Amen!!!
Wishing you & yours a loverly weekend! *hugs*
A decent week, if not overly hot and humid. I go from an air conditioned condo to an air conditioned car to an air conditioned destination.
The Golden Isles Tea Party has signed me up to do some education for our members, with my first presentation to be an introduction to federalism. I've lined up other topics for future presentations. Considering I've made presentations to Washington state legislators in the past, this should be good exercise.
Tonight is a special night for me. At 11 PM (EDT), KING-FM in Seattle will broadcast a live performance from the Seattle Chamber Music Festival via streaming audio on the Internet. They broadcast all the concerts, three per week for six weeks, but tonight is special.
The Ehnes String Quartet is making their first revenue performance, playing Beethoven's Quartet in E-flat, Op. 74. (Their first actual performance was in Atlanta in March at a free concert, which I missed.) I planted the spark for this quartet in 2003, and I fanned the flames with Jimmy Ehnes (violin), Richard O'Neill (viola) and Robert DeMaine (cello) over the years by pushing the idea. They added Amy Moretti Schwartz at second violin, and they now plan to fill the void left by the Guarneri Quartet when that group retired a few years ago. Competition is stiff, with the Emerson Quartet being the premier American group today.
I'll be moving back and forth between this thread and the broadcast. It's a heady experience being on the periphery of something this big. I've been getting e-mails today from Richard and Jimmy wishing I were there in Seattle to hear them play. I'll be listening via the Internet, though.
Good evening Kathy & thank you for the ping.
I hope you had a good day & NO homework this weekend!:) *hugs*
