The Democratic-controlled Senate on Friday narrowly voted to block a Republican measure that would force Congress to pass a stringent balanced budget amendment and cap spending before increasing the debt ceiling.
The legislation, a conservative priority, never had a chance of passing, but the strictly partisan 51-46 vote to table the Cut, Cap and Balance bill highlighted the partisan divide in Washington over how to tackle spending and raise the nations $14.3 trillion debt limit.

Screw em. No debt increase then!
The House did all it can do for these schmucks.
bump.
Mission accomplished.
The record is clear.
The Rats voted to default. Too bad.
“We’re going to dispose of this legislation as it needs to be, so that President Obama and the speaker can move forward on a [plan] that will have some revenue in it,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said just before the roll call began.
What’s left is to get in front of as many microphones as possible and make it known the Democrats don’t want to cut spending or balance the budget. Make it known that all Obama is interested in is spending money and raising taxes without giving a damn about how the bills get paid when they come due.
Time for the House to go on summer vacation until September 12.
Senator Coburn intends on doing just that
“There is no deal. There is no agreement in private” with Democrats, Boehner told reporters at the Capitol as the Senate was voting on a bill pushed through the House by majority Republicans which is called “cap, cut and balance” in pursuit of an accommodation on raising the government’s debt limit. The legislation was killed in the Democratic-dominated Senate on a procedural vote by a 51-46 margin.

What’s left is for the House leadership to take to the media - including op-eds in all of the major newspapers and every inch of network TV they can slip in to.
The senator dems who're running in 2012...can kiss their seats goodbye.
What’s left?
Wholesale cuts of all non-constitutional departments and spending programs of the federal government. (In my dreams)
Idiot Alert...

>>The Republicans can sit tight on their bill ~ at the last minute the Democrats will have to take up the bill for another vote OR they’ll default.
Or the House could double-down and re-pass the bill with even larger cuts to Dhimmi programs.
Where is the Dems alternative bill?
The GOPers put a bill out there.. the only piece of legislation that will stem a default. They’ve done what they can... the ball’s in the dems’ court now. Now, just have to keep Boehner from caving to a bad deal, like he did re: the FY 11 budget. Any proposed deal must be vetted by the full GOP to avert another blunder.
Let’s all call/fax Harry Reid’s office and ask him where his plan is...!!!

Were going to dispose of this legislation as it needs to be, so that President Obama and the speaker can move forward on a [plan] that will have some revenue in it, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said just before the roll call began.”
They GOT their revenue when they decided to term the Obamacare mandate a “tax.”
