So, what's left? The Krauthammer Plan? Or has Boehner really reached a deal?

The Republicans can sit tight on their bill ~ at the last minute the Democrats will have to take up the bill for another vote OR they'll default.

The House did all it can do for these schmucks.

“We’re going to dispose of this legislation as it needs to be, so that President Obama and the speaker can move forward on a [plan] that will have some revenue in it,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said just before the roll call began.

What’s left is to get in front of as many microphones as possible and make it known the Democrats don’t want to cut spending or balance the budget. Make it known that all Obama is interested in is spending money and raising taxes without giving a damn about how the bills get paid when they come due.

Time for the House to go on summer vacation until September 12.

“There is no deal. There is no agreement in private” with Democrats, Boehner told reporters at the Capitol as the Senate was voting on a bill pushed through the House by majority Republicans which is called “cap, cut and balance” in pursuit of an accommodation on raising the government’s debt limit. The legislation was killed in the Democratic-dominated Senate on a procedural vote by a 51-46 margin.

What’s left is for the House leadership to take to the media - including op-eds in all of the major newspapers and every inch of network TV they can slip in to.

What’s left?

Wholesale cuts of all non-constitutional departments and spending programs of the federal government. (In my dreams)

Idiot Alert...

The GOPers put a bill out there.. the only piece of legislation that will stem a default. They’ve done what they can... the ball’s in the dems’ court now. Now, just have to keep Boehner from caving to a bad deal, like he did re: the FY 11 budget. Any proposed deal must be vetted by the full GOP to avert another blunder.

Now, every single Talk Radio Host, Commentator and Media personality on the Right needs to hang this disastrous error by Harry Reid around the Democrats neck.

The House did their job, the Senate threw a temper-tantrum and refused to do their job. Now the burden of “fixing” this debt issue lays wholly on Obama, Harry Reid and the Democrats.

Don’t like our Debt plan? Fine, where is your plan Democrats?

OK, now every republican should repeat, on every interview they give: 3 democrat senate votes is all that kept us from increasing the debt ceiling.

3 democrat senate votes are responsible for whatever happens on August 2nd.

3 democrat senate votes who thought ideological purity was more important than solving the debt problem.

3 democrat senate votes. The democrats are responsible for not raising the debt ceiling. They voted against raising it in 2006, and they voted against solving it now.

I was in a grocery store yesterday, and an old black woman charged up $145.60 in groceries, presented a card to the cashier. The cashier said "Uh, maam, this is not an EBT card. It is your state insurance card". The woman got cross and demanded she take it, but the cashier patiently told her you can't buy groceries with a health insurance (I guess Medicaid?) card. The woman cursed and stormed out, leaving all the bagged groceries. We saw her head back to the housing projects across the street when we exited the store. This nation is saddled with tens of millions of humanoids who are not "individuals" in the way our Founders envisioned the People. they are completely dependent upon the state. They will never work, are on permanent 'disability', or are 'employed' in useless make-work government jobs. They are 100% dependent for housing, food, fuel, healthcare, child care, etc, as were their parents, and as will be their children. In addition we have yet more tens of millions of illegal aliens, costing us $113 billion a year, and that is what is ON the books, and does not take into account welfare, food stamp and WIC fraud (as documented here and here).

The talks in D.C. are not even DISCUSSING this growing cancer on our financial future. So long as we permit the Great Society's reach to extend further, and the illegal alien/anchor baby disaster to grow, there is no hope whatsoever for our future.

So, where is the fool that told me I was wrong, that there was going to be an actual vote on this. BS, they did just what I posted, vote to cut off debate and then table. Nothing more than a republican show and tell before the cave in.

The socialist-democrats have no interests in basic fundamental governing matters such as passing a budget. All they want to do is RULE! The only thing they will understand is pitchforks, tar, and feathers. The first thing on the budget cut list should be to eliminate ALL elected officials pension and healthcare benefits. Politicians don’t deserve either. Then maybe the SOB’s wouldn’t try to make it a permanent career.

Fine. The House should now reject anything coming out of the Senate. They need to have a press conference today. Announce that they passed a bill to raise the debt ceiling but the Senate tabled it. Too bad. Our job is done. See you after Labor Day
