There's a near consensus among Washington insiders that Sarah Palin will not run for president but a new poll suggests the former Alaska governor would be an instant force in the race if she did choose to run
In the Washington Post and ABC News survey, Palin comes in a solid second in the Republican field, behind frontrunner Mitt Romney but ahead of Michele Bachmann. Palin is also well ahead of another possible candidate, Texas Governor Rick Perry
The numbers are: Romney 26%; Palin 18%; Bachmann 12%; Ron Paul 9%; Perry 8%; Herman Cain 6%; Newt Gingrich 5%; Jon Huntsman 3%; and Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum at 2% each. In a question without Palin and Perry, the other candidates are in mostly the same order
Palin is also at or near the top of the field in questions about desirable attributes in a president. When GOP voters were asked which candidate "most understands the problems of people like you," Palin tops the list with 23%, followed by Romney at 18% and Bachmann at 11%. When voters were asked which candidate is the strongest leader, Palin was second only to Romney, with 16% to his 27%. When asked which candidate "is closest to you on the issues," Palin is in a virtual tie with Romney, with 20% to his 21%.
In only one category, experience, does Palin slip into third place, behind Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Palin famously resigned as Alaska governor in mid-term.
Palin also slips a bit when Republicans are asked which candidate would have the best chance of defeating Obama. 32% say Romney has the best chance, while just 14% say Palin. But Palin's number is still more than twice that of any other GOP candidate in the field, including Perry.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone. She will become the favorite for the nomination if she decides to run.
I love these Washington “insiders” as if they have any freaking clue what someone outside their bubble is going to do!

Despite all of the PDS media coverage, Sarah Palin is the darling of Americans. They will flock to her in the tens of millions.
(((((PING)))))
Go, Sarah, GO!!
Just win, baby.
There is also consensus that man is causing global warming.
Looks like a lot of good has come from two sources. First the opening of The Undefeated , even with a limited release and no MSM publicity, the word of mouth and social networking are getting the word out. Second, the Newsweek cover and the positive story inside.
Lots of good polling numbers too , for the non candidate.

Sarah will be free of jury duty at the end of the month and free of ethics charges from her time in office next week. She should give Obama a presidential sized bellyache on his birthday and announce on August 4.
Washington insiders be damned.
Sarah is going to run and we will see the wonderful day when she becomes our President.
The glad shout, “President Palin”..... will be heard all across our country.
Every time you post those words, you make my day a little brighter.
God bless you Jim......
A perfect birthday present to Obama. They say they want Sarah. Let it happen.
IMO Sarah Palin is THE candidate to bring some excitement to the republican run.
Plus she has been skewered by the dims and MSM and is unlikely to have any undiscovered major medical problems such as migraines(/s) that could prevent her from discharging her duties.
1,000 "Adults" nationwide.
The actual GOP primary voter might add up to 80 people.
Just like all the others that say she can’t win.
