And once again the prior week is revised UP.90+% of the time, the number is revised up. If there needed to be periodic adjustments, more or less half the time they'd be up, the other half would be down.
Someone has got to be jiggering the numbers.

I start Monday on a new job, after searching for more than a year. Good for you. I am retiring at the end of this year, but will be looking for part time work.

I have no idea why 375k pickedThat number has been revised up in the last year. Used to be 250K, then 300, then 325.
Not too long ago, it used to be 125K. That was under a Republican president, though, and they're held to a better standard. :-)
Watch, if UE stays where it is for another few weeks, the number for a "healthy economy" will be revised upwards again to 400K. You heard it here first.

Why can’t the enemedia simply say these stories with a single sentence?
“418,000 People lost their jobs this week.”

Everything is on track- look how relaxed Obama is and how often he relaxes, parties, golfs. To him, things are running OK.
You are spot on. He does NOT want the debt ceiling raised and then he has a huge PR club over the GOP for the 2012 election cycle. He could care less what happens to America - look around folks.

You have to give a lot of credit (blame actually) to the left. Even with the constant stream of negative numbers there are still millions in this country who will support the vile progressives (aka Marxist/communists/socialists).
It is amazing the GOP can ever win elections in times of moderate unemployment.
What could possibly be bad enough for these bottom feeding morons to give up on redistribution AKA theft from producers to give away to losers.

Each week you have to reapply for unemployment benefits. Some drop off as they either find work or their benefits run out. If we lost 400k + jobs per week, we would be totally unemployed by the end of the year. Since the number goes up, we are still hemorrhaging jobs.............

The 400k number is new people filing for unemployment benefits. The government figures that 375k is the number of filings in a healthy economy. Anything above 375k is bad and below that is good.
Many months ago, Stuart Varney said on FoxNews that the economy would have to be producing 200,000 new jobs per week for us to ever get to the 'break even' point.
IIRC, the number of new jobs last week was 18,000. So, we still have a MASSIVE way to go before the job market can claim a turn-around.

Well, no. I was just wondering why they don’t simply say, “There are XXXXXX Americans that lost their jobs.”
Keep it simple for dumbasses like me who suck at numbers.
