Cut cap and balance' debt measure passes House

I could be wrong, but after the Rebups gave Obama a pass on the war powers act, the previous debt deal fraud, and the constant demagouging of the tea party by much of the republican leadership I have good reason to mistrust them.

It’s not naive. It’s very clear.

She wanted to support a bill to cut, cap and balance.

However, months ago, she made the promise that she would not support a debt ceiling increase that did not repeal Obamacare.

So at that point she was clearly faced with a choice. She could just not sign the pledge to cut cap and balance, and that action would have been out of step with her desire to cut cap and balance, or she could sign the pledge with the caveat that, as she had said long before, she would not support any bill to raise the debt limit without repealing Obamacare.

It does not require her being “naive” to include this statement. But it did require her including this statement if she was not going to flip flop on her commitment about the debt ceiling and Obamacare. The only other option would been to not sign the pledge, when the pledge is clearly in line with her philosophy.

If she had signed the pledge without including the caveat we can be sure that there are those on Free Republic that would have been lighting up this thread about her “flip flop” on Obamacare. Instead she is being castigated for being “naive.”

When a bona fide Balanced budget Amendment that contains sane controls is submitted to The States for Ratification, THEN — and only then — Obama gets the debt ceiling raised.

Cut, Cap and Balance will never pass the Senate. Obama said he would veto it. Isn’t that a losing battle too then?

I don't personally think it will go anywhere in the Senate. We have too many traitors working over there as witnessed today by the gang of 6 or 7, whatever... What I am hoping for is that they may surprise me and get it passed and put all the Dems AND BO on record again opposing the majority of the citizens. Game over for 2012. If it fails in the Senate, we know who we need to "primary out". It sucks, but I did like to see them put their names to entitlement reform and $6 trillion in cuts. A good start anyways.

Her vote didn't change the out come. She's keeping Obamacare in the spot light, and makes the point that she's more of a fighter than the rest.

I'm sure she thought that including Obamacare in the bill was bridge too far, but not to mention it at all must have got her goat.

She wants to stick it to Obama at every opportunity, and IMHO that's what the people want and why she's moving up.

OTOH, the moronic GOPers in the Senate ( McConnell and the idiots in the new GANG OF SIX ) are blowing smoke, while caving in to Obama. At least the House Bill has some substance to it; unlike the nothingness coming from Obama, the Dems, and the spinless, brain dead GANG OF SIXers. Something WILL be done. None of us will like it. But at least the Bill in the House has a few good things in it. Hopefully neither side will win with either plan ( LOL to teh supposed Dem/GOP Senate "plan") now sort of on the table.

I had an open mind re Bachmann; however, she hasn't done it for me. OTOH, you are a rabid, PDSer, whose projection problem appears to be extremely severe.

Bachmann is one of the few (besides talk radio) who is keeping Obamacare in the spotlight. I don’t think Boehner or DeMint are losing sleep over her no vote.

Of course if Palin was one of the ‘no’ votes all we'd hear about is how courageous she is standing up to the GOP establishment. I admire people who stand by their convictions. Especially if this bill is just a pretext to increase the debt ceiling.

What her rider proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is that all she cares about, whether it matters to anyone else or not, is her way, or NOTHING, when that NOTHING helps the DEMs.

Ron Paul does this same crapola all the time. It's phony, naive, and not even self-serving. She and Paul believe that such votes puts them above everyone else, perhaps allows them to claim that they "stand on principle". The fact of the matter is, it divides the GOP, helps DEMs, every time, and does less than nothing to forward what each claim they want.

Remember, the Senate sell out cannot pass into law unless the House votes for it as well... Which is the plan all along. Obama will invoke the 14th and just raise the debt limit citing an impass, while the bipartisan statists in the Senate will block any removal of the president via impeachment, thus letting the House leadership statists off the hook and preserve the spending status quo. And thus the coup will be complete ....

I fear you assessment is correct - THE COUP WILL BE COMPLETE. No one is going to stand up to this MARXIST because of his color. It is really that simple. He produces a fraudulent BC after the Donald calls him out and everyone just shuts their traps.
