The much awaited figures for Michele Bachmanns fundraising in the second quarter of the fiscal year reported today did nothing to burnish her image as the up and coming Republican. Her total of $2 million raised in the last three months plus two million more shifted from her congressional campaign account illustrated that for all of the progress her candidacy has made in the last several weeks, she seems to lack the infrastructure and staff work that more established hopefuls have already put into place. The high expectations her poll figures have produced means pulling in only $2 million has to be considered something of a disappointment.
Bachmanns excuses for this showing will center on the fact that at the start of the quarter she barely had a campaign, let alone the sort of organization that would allow her to rake in the big bucks. Her Internet fundraising operation, key to a grass roots populist candidacy such as hers, so far lacks the sophistication and promotional efforts needed for her to harness the energy of enthusiastic Tea Party and conservative Christian backers.
If she can manage to put together a better online effort in the coming months, then she may be able to start raising the big bucks from a broad base of small contributors that could help put the nomination within reach. But if she fails to do so, this shortfall will put a brake on both her momentum and her ability to compete with the cash-rich Mitt Romney.
Having lifted herself from the second tier to leading alternative to the frontrunner in just a few weeks, Bachmann no longer has the ability to fly below the radar. The congresswomans fast start has set high expectations that require her to do more than just skate by. If Bachmanns performance in the Iowa straw poll in August or the next fundraising report again falls short of what we believe a first-tier candidate must do, her hopes will suffer.
So when did Soros start paying me? Been here since 2007...actually much longer.
I am calling out Bachmann`s support in large part as simply manufactured.
CNN Headline for example with the Dem Register poll was this...MOVE OVER PALIN
That`s all Bachmann means to them, pollsters are pushing her in their phony polls, absolutely.
*Palin Adoration Syndrome
:-)
You are exactly right.
If Sarah jumps in she gets our money. If Sarah says no we'll send it to Michele.
Yes the LSM/Rep establishment has pushed Bachmann like there is no tomorrow!
Bachmann’s personally attractive, but her charisma is not that strong.
Palin and Cain are the top charismatic contenders.
Do you always get your talking points from watching Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC?
LOL. I needed a good laugh. If you believe that, then you believe Obama loves Capitalism.
BTW, as far as Rollins is concerned, I'd like Bachmann to dump his ass. But really now, you are certainly as much of an attack dog, if not more so, than Rollins, so stop being so insincere with your manufactured outrage and your pathetic manipulations. Are you getting paid well for your distortions?
I donated to her last congressional campaign. Like others I was put off by Rollins’ bashing of Palin. My money stays in my pocket for now.
I have not donated to anyone’s presidential campaign as of yet. Too early to throw my money around, and too many (potential) candidates; some of whom have yet to declare.
You got me...Soros sends me 500 bucks a week, and I get a thousand a month from Michael Moore... SARC
I've read enough.
Hey, myself, NL and Wf all got hot cars from Soros, he likes us better......we're his favorite trolls........
:-)
Oh hey, the Bachmann Bashing Brigade is all here.
You know, it’s ok that you don’t care for Bachmann, but you really don’t have to post such ridiculous; asinine remarks to convince anyone of your aversion towards her.
Interesting finish to this item.
Michele Bachmann's "hopes" are at the mercy of "what we believe".
So who is this "we" that is so all-controlling?
No, but you do;)
Thanks I love it when people do things for me!
