[history]
Reid says Cantor's conduct during the sensitive White House talks have shown, in Reid's words, "he shouldn't even be at the table." Reid says other congressional leaders are negotiating in good faith as an Aug. 2 deadline approaches for raising the debt limit.

Reid shouldn’t be in the senate. He should be in Danbury.

Oh, he cares. He wants the higher taxes. It’s just that his plan b is to blame Republicans for everything all the time. So, of course he will spout that we could’ve balanced the budget if only the Republicans would “raise taxes on the rich”.
A lie, of course.
But he really does want the taxes. He just knows how to demagogue the issue if he doesn’t get it.

“Everything the RATs are doing right now is a big show. The objective is to make Republicans look extreme, and Obama to look moderate. Obamas walkout was pre-planned and staged. So are Rieds comments.”
I agree with you. Obama is playing games. The Republicans need to ditch these “talks” and get down to actual business.
Let Obama “take it to the American people” with his 37% approval rating re the economy. Hard to imagine him winning any new converts as a result of this week’s foolish behavior.

Whut, the gentleman from Nevada is publicly dissing the gentleman from Virgina?
Sometimes I wish duels were still legal, given that Cantor is surely faster on the draw

The Republicans should never forget how they were totally shut out of the health care debate.
Or when Pelosi turned out the lights and went home when Republicans wanted to debate DRILL HERE DRILL NOW!
Or when the Democrats placed one member in Congress over breaks to disallow Bush to make recess appointments.
Or when Democrats led non-filibuster filibusters so that an up or down vote was NOT taken on Bush judicial appointees.
Or.....

As long as Cantor is being labeled as childish, he should mention Barrys ears.
and scratch his chin with his middle finger while Barry is lecturing

I agree they should legislate something and send it up.
I’m guessing that maybe they don’t want to expose the split in their own House ranks.
Some GOP in the House will not vote for anything that includes an increase in the debt ceiling, no matter what else is in the bill. Never, never, never.
Others want to raise the debt ceiling coupled with cuts, and instructions to pay social security, veterans etc first.
Please, don’t start that up about “if we cut, we don’t need to raise the debt ceiling”. That sounds right, but it isn’t. I don’t know where you are on that, but I’ve been dealing with it with others.
You would have to immediately cut 40% of spending, so that we had no need to borrow one dime going forward. That is not the kind of cutting they are talking about, so the debt ceiling would still need raising under that scenario. Even the Paul Ryan budget envisioned continued borrowing, just at a lesser and lesser extent.

Cantor is exactly the right guy to have in the room. He won't be cowed, intimidated or cave to Obama. Reid hates an opponent that won't fold like a cheap suit.

poor Barry, using all his bestest time-proven adolescent negotiating tactics, letting his legion play the race card (if you disgree with him and dont cave to him you are disrespectful because he is a black man)
and still the GOP is riding his aXX all day and the vacation-itchy moochelle is probably riding his aXX when he walks in the door at night

Well is certainly looks like Obama and the other Marxists have their feet in concrete on tax increases and a long term (big) debt ceiling increase. Ergo there probably isn't much point in talking any longer. If I were a GOP negotiator I'd bring a book I wanted to read to the White House.
About the only thing the House can do now is pass a short term debt increase with spending cuts, but in order to do that the tea party wing of the GOP would have to agree. I certainly hope the Tea Party wing of the GOP would be willing to do something like that becuase if not the GOP will get blamed for this mess and the Marxists will have won the fight.
Tea Party GOP; Sometimes you need to retreat to win, this is one of those times.

Cantor is there to keep the main House dwarf, Weepy, from folding like a deck chair on the Titanic. There are even more vocal people we can send? How about Chafetz(?) from Utah. He doesn't seem to care about the POTUS feelings. How about Mike Pence? Send in Allen West. I know he don't take no crap. He is ex-military. He's heard every lie ever told. If anyone needs to go, get rid of Boehner. He is the architect of the budget deal and got rolled so easily. DON'T LET HIM ALONE WITH OBAMALAMADINGDONG! We will all be screwed if that happens. He is more interested in his tan than the debt ceiling. I say, follow Levin's advice: pass the bill and make them vote on it and refuse any more meetings as non productive. The more meetings there are, the more likely the Republicans fold. Stop meeting. Pass the bill and get them on record. Are all Republicans as stupid as the leadership seems to be. Grow a pair for Pete’s sake or are we going to have to let the women do this for you too?
