What do you think ? Governor Palin ? Is she running ? (also vote in the poll inside this posting)

First, I have absolutely no inside track (despite what some may think) but I am guessing Governor Sarah Palin is running for President in 2012. Basis for my guess ? First, she has never said no. In fact, she told me in an interview about 8 weeks ago, and this remark has been repeated by other journalists to her and by her, she has the “fire in her belly” interest in running. This is not a yes, and it is not a no but leans more in the yes direction. In that interview I tried to get a more definitive answer out of her as to whether she is running or not but only got admission of “fire in the belly.” Second, we have not heard much from her since her bus tour which makes me suspicious that she is gearing up (but just a guess…maybe she is doing something else? writing another book? spending time with her family? ) Third, as the days go on, some of the declared Republican candidates are having a few troubles – whether it be a gaffe or troubles raising money. This must be tempting to a politician looking at the race and who has not said no. Fourth, I read in the Des Moines Register that there are Palin volunteers – not from a Palin organization – all over the ground in Iowa. Fifth, there seems to be a media strategy – two weeks ago a documentary about her time as Governor opened in Iowa and then yesterday the cover story in Newsweek Magazine hit the newsstands. Sixth, she has already gone through the media digging into her life and past which discourages many politicians. Seventh, are there any signs she is not running other than that she is not physically in Iowa and has not declared a candidacy?

What do you think? Is she running? or not? (*take the poll)

Unless, of course, they become running mates. Not entirely out of the realm of possibility. And that is what I find most refreshing going in to next year. Contrary to what the media is saying, I think we have a very broad base of good candidates; each has their own strengths and ideas, many from outside the beltway, like Cain and Palin, several other governors and some serving in Washington now.

This is not the 2008 election, where BOTH sides were whittling down to the candidate. We know who we’re running against, it wasn’t as clear at this point in the last election.

And last time, we ended up with a mediocre candidate against a charismatic fraud. This time, the charisma won’t be as much of a factor...but the fraud will be.

And in 2016, we have even more strength..Rubio, Ryan, West...etc. I’m feeling more optimistic every day...something I had lost for a few years.

ROFL....did you ever wonder why her supporters have not left her? Palin has been sending signals since 2008 that she is running. she continues to send those signals and her supporters continue to receive them. while some of her supporters have bought into the media created narrative that she isn't running the vast majority have simply followed her words and actions and see with 99% certainty that not only is she running but she has been running since Nov 2008

Is there anyone who can give me some info as to “legality” of the question I posed in my Post #16?

if Perry gets in Palin is 110% sure to get in. Perry splits the ABP conservative vote and weakens Mitt and Bachmann. I would imagine that Rudy would then also get in to finish Mitt off and give Palin a clear path to the nomination. Not one of these candidates have been able to split the Palin vote so far. Not one will be able to the only think these ABP candidates do is split the ABP vote.

Assuming Palin is running, when do you prognosticate that she runs?

Me, I believe she announces around Labor day. give or take a day. At least no sooner than then.

What think ye all? Who can come closest to anticipating Palin’s strategy?

read the newsweek article. She lays it all out in the open. Says the only think that would stop her was if her family vetoed the idea than in the next breath she goes down the list of family members and how all are behind her or have no objections.

She woudln’t think She can Win ( Newweek) if she wasn’t running. My question is how does she tsack up against Perry, who looks to be in as well, Bachmann and Cain? Those three will give her a run for her money. But ia m sure she knows the field is crowd with people who she could call friends or has called friends before.

Reagan announced in November.

I think that's when she will announce.

It is to her strategic advantage to wait until the last possible moment.

She's getting more free, non FEC-regulated publicity than all the other candidates combined by doing so.

My question is how does she tsack up against Perry...

You mean globalist, Council-on-Foreign-Relations Rick Perry, the dream candidate of the ruling-class?

Is that who you are asking about?

i can see anytime from end of july to Labor day. she has the movie coming out Friday. then she has the 2 year limit on ethics at end of july then jury duty goes to the end of july. then she has her bus tour to finish probably for a couple weeks. She could declare before the Tour but doubtful. then their is the ames debate and straw poll. If she doesn’t want to compete in the straw poll she waits until Labor day if sh does its end of july...

i’m hoping of a Palin/Walker ticket myself. But a Palin/Perry ticket would be good too.

Then why do I keep seeing threads like this one?

Why is it, that when Sarah Palin finally sends up news that she's around by tweeting up a flare, her supports run up 500+ posts threads falling all over each other in celebration? (I can only imagine the hangovers after the thread celebration ends and everyone crawls into bed.)

Why does she prefer to send "signals" versus getting on with the business at hand?

It has become too hard to take her seriously.

>> “ Can you imagine the shiver of terror that a Palin / Perry Ticket would send through the hearts of the Libs and Rats. “ <<

You may be on to something. Glee is always front loaded at the entry of a candidate, and the drag comes thereafter. Sarah, upon her entry, would hit a wall with those beyond her base. She may play her base against someone like Rick Perry in order to force a share on his ticket. Now that’s hardball. She knows she can’t win on her own because her platform is radically Right by the new standards of a now divided, marxist nation.

What makes Palin’s “signals” any different from Perry’s “hints”? Why the pressure for Palin to declare one way or another but not the same demand on Perry?

It’s either too late for both, or for neither. (And I vote neither.)

Perry has not joined yet because he has an obligation to his current budget agenda for the state of Texas. His camp has said that sometime in mid August, he will be free of that obligation to declare.

For Perry, waiting one more month won't make that much difference.
