I'm at risk of exceeding the vanity quotient at FR but here goes.
I'm baling hay tonight with my Fred Flintone model 70AD baler, things are going reasonably well since it's just under 100* and the hay, though heavy is quite dry. My wife is working cleaning a house in town 'till 8 or so for extra money and my junior/senior boy who is working with some carpenter friends of mine sheeting a roof was mowing the yard (without complaint for a change) before he showers and goes to the nearby small town to spend time with friends for the evening.
I'm thinking that Barack has no clue about working at "menial" jobs to get by, or about a family pulling together for the common good. It's theoretical to him. It's reality to most of us.
Enter Sarah Palin. A middle-class multiple mother who juggles a career and a family. Barack's mother couldn't juggle him and her somewhat obscure career goals. There were flashes of family, adoption by Lolo Soetoro, etc. but it always fell apart; hence the requisite government role in everything. Families, and churches and communities will fail you.
Sarah is the anti-Stanley Ann Dunham, and the anti-Ivy League proto-feminist hero. Everything that failed Barack has been a source of strength for her and most of American culture, and rightfully so because it is founded on the bedrock of our Christian society.
Rev 3:2
Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Shame that you are not in N. Illinois. I could use some hay.
I read the Newsweek article earlier and I believe there is no candidate that dissects so directly Obama’s flawed view of this country. God Bless SP!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think BO is scared to death of Sarah Palin. He also does not have a clue about pulling together for the good of the family and working round the clock doing whatever needs to be done.
Good on you and your wife - sounds as if you did a wonderful job with your son. Anyone that works construction and then comes home to help out is a good kid even if they do complain once in a while!
Because she can beat him in an election and in a boxing match.
Great insight !!!
Gov Sarah Palin has my vote AGAIN if she runs this time...
Otherwise I’ll vote for Herman Cain, another opposite to Barry Dunham...
:)
Actually, I suspect this fear of Sarah can be extended to the entire Democrat Party for the smae reasons as you staed above. Sarah Palin is the complete antithesis of their collective “world view”.
Excellent choices!
Every time the media or the corrupt pols attack Sara, this verse comes to mind....
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,
Says the LORD....Isaiah 54:17
We had a pretty wet spring and the east slopes of brome are surprisingly thick- I scaled back on fertilizer and have more than last year. This particular place is the 3rd year out of CRP and although rough as the moon is kicking out pretty good hay.
The boy has been a struggle but he’ll turn out. He ain’t no punk!
Insightful analysis. You hit the nail on the head. Thanks.
Basketball court as well...Golf course with an afternoon’s practice.
While you may not be literal in your expression “rough as the moon” ... it brings back memories of running the old Ford tractor with a big ol’ Bushhog behind it over some really ROUGH ground on my wife’s grandmother’s property. It had been cattle-grazing pastureland for years and was then over-seeded with alfalfa without doing anywork to grade it smooth.
You know how the earth likes to make natural lumps everywhere a cow patty landed and stays? For the first few cuts I had to EASE around the 15 or so acres or get bounced off the seat.
You accomplished more work today than Obama has in his lifetime. Racist.
They are herd animals- once she announces they will all be watching who breaks for the gate first. Then the stampede to not be caught pants down. Should be interesting!
Hit a few new washouts from all the rain and a badger den. Liked to have broke a molar on that one.
I think it would be impossible to teach the Bummer to fly a plane or even drive a car. He can only get people to vote for him and that is enough.
Thank you for bringing a smile to my face.
