Sarah Palin has long refused to reveal whether or not she will run for president in next year's election. But today the former Alaska governor has revealed if she doesn't, it certainly won't be from a lack of confidence.
In an interview, the Tea Party favourite said she believes she can win a presidential election - but still refused to be drawn on whether she will launch White House campaign.
Appearing on the front cover of Newsweek for the fifth time in three years, she said: 'I believe that I can win a national election.
'I'm not so egotistical as to believe that it has to be me, or it can only be me, to turn things around. But I do believe I can win.'
It's the latest hint she may still run. The comments follow a campaign-style bus tour and, most recently, the premiere of a documentary about her life, The Undefeated, in the key election state of Iowa. Despite not having declared her candidacy, she has 16 per cent of Republican support according to the latest Gallup poll, and is second only to Mitt Romney, on 24 per cent.....

>>She’s not playing the jourbalists game, she is doing things her way. <<
The question is, is her way an effective way?
We all enjoy tweaking the MSM’s nose. But, as you know I have asked int he past, is this a good strategy (not the tweaking, the playing coy)?
This could either be a 200 MPH blast past the grandstand to the checkered flag or a major crackup that takes other cars out, with shrapnel and tires hurting people in the stands as well.
I’ll say this — she doesn’t leave much between the two.
Oh, uh — IMHO. YMMV.
I can easily vote for her again.
I agree with Palin. I do not think our candidate has to be "ONLY SARAH." There are several good candidates and potential candidates out there. I would support Palin or just about any other Republican over Obama.
Rogue mama grizzlies can really make life rough for the metrosexual, girlymen “journalists” in Barry’s state run “media”. If she does decide to run, she can count on my support and my vote. I’m just waiting for her to say it’s time to go!
IMO, it would be a cake walk. GOOOOOO, Sarah !!!!!!!!!!!!
Messrs. Romney and Huntsman are Barack Obama in white. Other than that, I don’t have much problem with any of them.
I think the Arizona Peoples’ Republic comic book has already promised Kyl’s seat to Giffords and/or her husband.
How about Senator Todd Palin of AZ and President Sarah Palin?
That would fry the AZ Socialist Republic’s cookies, now wouldn’t it?
...is this a good strategy (not the tweaking, the playing coy)?
Not that I'm an expert on strategy, but given that the election is 17 months away, and the GOP convention more than a year, it seems to me that a lot of people are getting really, really (over)exposed.
She certainly doesn't need the name recognition, and when and if she decides to run, the money will pour in.
Further, I don't doubt that she is prepping like crazy in the event she does choose to go.
Damn straight!!!!IMHO
>> it seems to me that a lot of people are getting really, really (over)exposed.<<
And that is certainly a possibility. But it gets people irritated when you signal “come closer” with one hand “get away” with the other.
And I know we have a cadre of solid Gov. Palin supporters who may not see what many others perceive. I honestly believe America is skeptical of her and this adds to their skepticism.
Maybe it is a 200 MPH last dash for the flag (to mix metaphors) but it seems, let us say, risky — perhaps beyond the tipping point against success.
As always, IMHO. YMMV.
And what if she has no intention of running but wants to keep her name in the limelight? She makes a lot of money from her speaking engagements, books, etc. and she might just want the role of kingmaker.
Always remember that politicians are politicians. The majority of them have large egos and flexible principles. Conservatives, of all people, ought to remain skeptical of political figures.
In an interview with the ABC affiliate at the Phoenix Airport, Sarah was asked if she was considering a run for the AZ senate set. She said NO and added that that was not in her future plans.
I agree. The race is likely to come down to Palin and Romney and Romney’s own team has said he’ll try to lay low to avoid overexposure before Labor Day.
And yes, Palin is undoubtedly doing her homework—and will be ready to outwonk her competition come the actual race.
Why should she give up her strategic advantage?
To make it "fair" for the RINOs and 'Rats?
The majority of them have large egos and flexible principles.
Palin is not of the majority.
You can’t be an artist without an ego...
Just because you have an ego...doesn’t
mean you’re an artist.
