Rick Perry: Would Obama stand a chance against the Texas governor?

President Obama wouldn't stand a chance if Texas Gov. Rick Perry were to win the Republican nomination. That's Merrill Matthews' theory anyway. On the conservative website Human Events, he compares Obama to Perry in terms we can all understand.
Which brings us to the Obama vs. Perry records on the economy.
Unemployment: Then, 7.3% of Americans were unemployed and 9.1% are unemployed today.
...Yet, as this Times article demonstrates, there's no doubt Perry brings more to the table in terms of successful governing experience than anyone else seeking to challenge Obama.

“Bilderberg” - yawn .... that’s meaningless nutball conspiracy twaddle. Take off the tinfoil.
Perry’s an Aggie and Eagle Scout from paint creek who was in the Air Force and spent the last 20 years as a Texas politician - a good one. You cant peddle the conspiracy cr8p on people who actually know him, and know his good points and weak points. He’s not perfect, but he’ll do.
And btw, if you know of a sitting governor more conservative, fine, get him/her to run.

“Perry blasted “Obamacare” in his speech, saying it could “crumple” states, and he said that Texas led the nation in new jobs because it was business-friendly.
Perry faulted “endless overreaching by the federal government,” saying “Washington isn’t supposed to be the all-powerful, all knowing, all spending Oz, pulling the levers of freedom while limiting the freedom of our citizens.”

You better be careful when the democrat Media starts pushung a Republican candidate (Huntsman, Romney, Perry).
There’s something fishy there. Either he’s a RINO or a sure loser.

Why don’t you just change your tagline to: “Let’s elect Obama for 4 more years”.

Texas AG Abbott is one of the folks leading the charge to overthrow Obamacare in the courts.
Yes, he would repeal it.

I don’t think America would write off an entire state the size of Texas as if it contains only one politician or type of people. I don’t think the Texas Corridor issue will resonate with America. No one has ever heard of it, and it doesn’t involve illegal activity.

Interesting, it was just a year ago that he was saying that Arizona-style legislation wouldn't work here, and it was less than two weeks ago that Perry's biggest donors killed off the sanctuary city legislation in Texas. Oh and lest we forget, it
was less than four years ago when Perry pushed for amnesty:
Leading a large delegation of Texas executives trying to drum up business in Mexico, Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday criticized the U.S. Congress for failing to pass an immigration bill that would legalize millions of workers.
"I don't think this is that difficult an issue if Congress would have the maturity to sit down and really discuss it and cut out all the mean rhetoric," Perry said during a break in the third day of meetings with Mexican officials and business executives.
"We need those individuals to continue to grow our economy," he said of Texas' undocumented workers, most of whom hail from Mexico. "The vast, vast majority of those individuals want to come and work and take care of their families."
I'm not sure who told Rick Perry that we need illegal immigrants who circumvent our national security to grow our economy. Oh could it be Perry's biggest donor, a home builder, or one of his other major donors, a grocer. Construction and farming...nah those industries don't use a lot of illegal labor do they?
Perry's biggest donor being a home builder has guided a lot of Perry's rhetoric over the last 10 years - he talks tough on border security, but he supports amnesty, or "guest workers" as he, McCain, and Bush call them, and he pushed for Congress to legalize those illegal immigrants so that they could continue working for his donors. He's talked about a dream of open borders, he's praised LULAC, he's talked about healthcare for Mexicans.
You can't claim to be tough on border security and then turn around and criticize Congress for not legalizing millions of illegal immigrants. Perry supporters think you can, but legalizing the crimes of illegal immigrants is rewarding those who would circumvent our national security and who do not respect our sovereignty. In the wake of 9/11, it's especially dangerous to want to reward those who would illegally enter this country.

He's never talked about amnesty. He's talked about, border enforcement in the context of cartel violence. He tried to end sanctuary cities in TX by adding the bill to the recent special session after it failed in the regular session.
To my knowledge he's only ever mentioned a renewable 2 year worker visa program requiring a background check, taxes paid and incarceration or deportation for criminal acts. Citizenship has never been on the table in contrast with W, McCain and the rest.

Let’s reword the question, “Would any Republican candidate for president stand a chance against President Obama who is OBVIOUSLY deliberately attempting to bankrupt the United States of America and destroy the private sector free market capitalist economy?”

Feel that way? Accuse you? I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying that people can say that politicians from Texas are all of a type, or all the same and that a good response to that stance might be to point out that Obama is from Chicago which is practically trademarked as the headquarters for corrupt politicians and if being from Texas is a smear and THEIR candidate is from Chicago they should not talk. Candidates who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw rocks...was ALL that I was saying. About THEM and not about you or my feelings????
So...I don’t know what you mean by I was ACCUSING YOU of something. I wasn’t and don’t have any idea how you were construing such. People should not take things as being about THEM or so personally. It really gets in the way of clear thinking. For my part, I should have spelled it out as I just did above rather than making the short comment and thinking it would be understood. Sorry if you took offense and very surpised as well.

Im not sure America is willing to vote in another Texan after we saw what Bush did with DHS and TSA. Bush gets a bad rap about a lot of things, i.e, the education bill and the prescription drug bill, and this is another. After 9/11 he combined a few existing agencies into one for greater efficiency. Another reason was that the new DHS, at least initially, was not covered by the Civil Serve regulations which prevented the firing of government employees. That was a good step. What is your complaint about it?
Bush wanted private contractors to handle TSA duties, deemed necessary for security at the time, so that they could be hired and fired according to their performance. The Democrats insisted on and got a new government agency for obvious reasons, like more union members who can't be fired. What is your complaint about that?

I don't think obama has a chance in any fair election, key word being "fair".
