(Washington, DC) -- Republican congressional leaders are reportedly agreeing to billions of dollars in revenue increases as federal deficit discussions continue.
Republican Senator Jon Kyl announced the move today saying revenue increases don't necessarily mean tax hikes.
On the Senate floor Kyl said, quote, "If the government sells something and gets revenue from it, that's revenue."
He also suggested user fees for government services could provide additional revenue.
He says all the revenue increases Republicans have agreed to amount to between 150 billion and 200 billion dollars.

Dude, this is referring to the Senate, not the House. Why blame Boehner for what Kyl is doing?
I say let the people explain what they mean. Let’s not go off the deep end here—remember: the MEDIA AND THEIR LITTLE TIN GOD HUSSEIN WANT US TO BE DIVIDED! They will spin anything to make it look like they’re winning.
Wait for the details.

I agree. We need to wait and see the details before we start lighting torches and screaming for blood.

Question? I’m befuddled a user fee for a government service? I would have to pay to use a service that I am already paying for in taxes? oh boy sign me up

"Now, revenue from a 20% tariff increase on ChiCom imports I can agree with."
Agreed. Country is still among the three most important considerations for some of us, and that's worth going through another rough transition.

Then what are they going to sell when they run out of thigs to sell?
Your stuff? Mine? If they can't make do on 3 trillion a year, before they even get to our stuff, it will have been taxed out from under us long before.
If three trillion a year ain't enough, NO amount will be.
And if you think about it, since we don't hear anything about spending cuts, just "revenue increases," it's 4.5 trillion.
I reiterate: If 4.5 trillion per year isn't enough, there isn't any amount that will EVER be.

Anymore? No one in DC ever cared since, oh, the founding generation passed away. Even though it was released in 1939, “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington” is still an accurate case study in how DC works. It’s of the powerful, by the powerful and for the powerful, and the people be damned.

$25 for a 7-day pass for my private auto to Yellowstone national park! Yeah, as long as we ignore that little matter of double taxation. Once to steal the property from the US taxpayer, then again to have the govt's permission to use it.
Real cool!

Such a good idea. Let’s increase fees. Not.
Why not start eliminating welfare, subsidized housing, free cell phones, cars, insurance, and AAA. Then let’s rescind their pay increases and get them to pay for their own medical insurance.

"In other words, Senator Kyle proposes charging for services your taxes have supposedly already paid for. Roads, bridges, airspace, parks, waterways, etc etc etc."
Here's a thought: Kyl will agree to a deal that won't even win the majority of the GOP SENATE caucus.
I think the old dog GOP negotiators are making tentative agreements with the Dims and then shopping it back to their caucus.
The answer they keep getting is "NO!".
Very frustrating for the pond scum.
I predict GOP Congressional Leadership changes before 2012.

I suspect they're giving Obie a morsel, so he won't look de-pantsed when forced to submit to huge budget cuts and no tax increases. ROFLMAO!!!!! You must be insane. No other explanation.

Don't be stupid. Yellowstone was a part of the Wyoming Territory (it was also a part of the Montana Territory) when it was created by act of Congress in 1872 - 18 years before Wyoming was admitted to the Union in 1890 - and therefore belonged to the federal government lock, stock, and barrel. As such, the federal government could do with it as it pleased. It stole nothing from no-one (except, of course, the natives who were there beforehand - depending on your views on history).

Don’t worry; I have a feeling that any “revenue increases” which don’t include a tax hike will be balked at by the Democommies.
