This morning, there was a stunning development in Congresss investigation of the Justice Departments Fast and Furious gun-running program: it was revealed that on July 4, Kenneth Melson, the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Obama administrations intended fall guy in the scandal, broke ranks with his superiors. Without their knowledge, he gave an interview to Darrell Issas House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, accompanied only by his personal attorney. While a transcript of that interview is not yet public, it is clear that he blew the whistle on senior officials in the Justice Department.

Excellent point!!! This should be front page news. This seems to be what the lamestream media does. They either ignore, slant, throw a story out as a side or bury it.
The Bush version of Gunrunner included the imperative NOBODY GOES HOME UNTIL THOSE GUNS ARE SEIZED. Risky, but workable.
That is very different from “make the illegal sale, go home, and wait for the serial number to show up somewhere.”
Nobody died forging the marxist BC
F&F quite a few people died
It is bigger and as well international with the Mexican government now involved
BC is a dead issue.....this has growing legs and potential real SHTF possibities
Simple and easy to follow. The alphabet agency directors take their orders from holder. zer0 gives orders to holder. Simple and easy to follow chain of command. zer0 is dirty. holder followed orders from zer0. holder acted on orders from zer0. It goes to the top. No doubt here!
Still nothing in the MSM media sites.
Imagine that ...
I wonder how the Clinton’s will work this scandal into more power over Obama
Could it work to get 0 out of hellaries way for 2012 ?
She NEVER would have tried to budge the usurper out of office (will of the people and all, you know) but since he has to leave she might be willing to rescue the torch from his hand as he falls and move HIS agenda forward (for the people, you know) (and for the children, you know)
If you look at history and the things socialist revolutionaries have done to remove large obstacles in the way of their “utopia” this actually makes sense that it was his plan to create a crisis to disarm Americans. Look at what the stalin did to the farmers to get their land, since FUBO’s form of “revolution” is back door he has to also create a back door to gun control......I really hope and pray he and his regime pay for this, no slaps on the wrist.
This is the most egregious and damaging federal government scandal in decades. Just imagine: the head of the Justice Department as an accessory, if not an instigator, in a vast criminal conspiracy involving a foreign state that has resulted in the death of at least one US law enforcement agent and who knows how many Mexican citizens.
And what did 0bama know, and when did he know it?
Possibly ...until we find out the extent that the State Department was involved. "What did you know, and when did you know it?" needs to be asked of the leadership of EVERY Federal department. I do not assume that ANY are exempt, including Treasury and State.
Am I the only one that remembers how Clinton paraded out cabinet leaders from every department to claim his innocence ...prior to his impeachment?
I concede your points, but still contend that the likelihood of this getting *really* big is less that most here believe.
- Yes, people have died. But life is a very cheap commodity, particularly with the people that support Obama. And contrary to the left's talking points, they couldn't give a good crap about illiterate brown skinned people in a 3rd world country unless it furthered their political agenda. Ditto for their sycophants in the press.
- I've not closely followed the official info coming from the Mexican government, so I may be speaking from ignorance, but I have no particular faith that it cares enough for these victims to turn down payoffs from the WH in exchange for playing softball. This the same Mexican government that does nothing to stop their troops from crossing the border into the US.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. I base my "believe it when I see it happen" attitude on the last 40+ years I've been a voting adult.
Bill Clinton and his inner circle committed full fledged treason multiple times while in office. Hanging offenses, IMO. In each case the evidence was good. In each case the Democrat Party and the press killed it. And the Senate Republicans were grateful for a soiled blue dress because it allowed them to focus on that rather than the acts of treason.
This sounds callous (it is not, just realistic), but the deaths of Mexican peasants and a few Americans is not considered a bigger deal to our rulers than (Democrat) Presidential treason.
Well, if you do you will be wasting your time.
Gonna need an expendable food taster, too.
That’s what I get out of this. It was highly unusual for Melson to meet in private with the investigators, with his own counsel - but to do this on July 4th, when most of the staffers and elected idiots are out of the building? That tells us even more. He wanted to not be impeded, or Issa and Grassley wanted to have certain people NOT be in the room. That was a smart move.
I’m sure DOJ is having a fit over this development.
Oh sure they foresaw that.
Just didn’t occur to them that somehow it would be a problem.
Reread my post.
Remember, with the degraded conditions of the print media these days your typical reporter does his researching by looking at police "blotters" and other materials on the net.
I've found few stories of consequence recently that are EXCLUSIVE to any particular newspaper.
They just can't keep it secret ~ if it didn't belong to them in the first place.
No one should be getting his nose out of joint over the fact an old print media word is not as widely or instantly understood as it once was.
BTW, when it comes to this "GUNRUNNER" scandal most of your MSM types have to read the same private bloggers all of us already dug into MONTHS AGO.
Even I probably have a couple more blockbuster revelations to make about the USPS ~ hair curling in some quarters if not here, but you will see much more of that over time.
Some day look up "Santa Claus", "Reindeer", and "Little Red Man". #10 on the hit parade is still a Free Republic Thread from November 27, 2003 right behind Cheech and Chong, Celine Dion and, lo and behold, The Christmas Song.
That's the difference between the Internet and Print. You don't need a newspaper's archives to put together good stuff that has people reference it year after year.
