Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
Earlier on this thread, someone mentioned the “CSI effect”..people today expect to see hard, visual evidence..absent it, they won’t convict..
And you see this as a bad thing?

They deserve Casey since they protected her even when they knew she killed Caylee to the point of lying under oath for her.

I agree 100% I was so worried the Lynch Mob would prevail. Now we have to watch out for riots by the depraved followers of HLN.

I caught that. I think he is wrong about TV lawyers. As a lapsed lawyer myself, I think those of the public who have an interest in these sensational cases have a right to have the legal system explained to them. The laws differ all over the country, so having someone who is familiar with a particular jurisdiction or particular judge is useful for these explanations.
That said, they aren’t in the courtroom. They aren’t in the jurors’ room. When the TV lawyers go out on a limb and say ‘for sure’ the defendant will get X punishment, that’s when they go too far. They don’t know and all too often, their predictions come back to bite them in the butt.
I hope that she will be renounced by her parents and end up a pariah, unable to make a living, and the object of jokes, disdain, and derision by all who cross her path.
I think Casey probably killed the little girl. But it wasn’t PROVEN!!! I can’t say with 100% certainty that she did it. Neither can you.
Maybe, probably, most likely is NOT good enough to put someone to death.
We are only free because the Government must PROVE we committed a crime before locking us up. Otherwise, the Obama’s of the world would falsely accuse their political enemies and lock them up.
This is a sad case. I’m not happy that a woman I believe killed her child got off. But the state was unable to prove she did it.

There are plenty of other countries where you can be convicted on “probably”. Why don’t you move to one?
