First lady Michelle Obama today spoke in very frank and personal terms to a Massachusetts audience as she described her conversion to a political wife, as well as the toll President Obamas job takes on him each day.
I see the worry creasing his face. I hear the passion and determination in his voice. You wont believe what these folks are going through; he told me that last night. Michelle, it is not right. Weve got to fix this. We have to do more, she said during a visit to Boston for a fund-raiser on behalf of the Democratic National Committee.
Barack always reminds me that we are playing a long game, she added, replicating her husbands call for patience amid the countrys slow emergence from a recession. He reminds me, as I said to you, too, that change is slow. He reminds me that change doesnt happen all at once, but that if we keep showing up, if we keep fighting the good fight, doing what we know is right, then eventually we will get there, because the truth is we always have in this country. We always have.
Like her husband did a day earlier during a White House news conference, the first lady evoked the image of their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, as she tried to stir Democratic supporters.
The truth is that no matter what happens, my girls will be OK. My girls will have plenty of advantages and opportunities in their lives. And thats probably true for many of your kids as well, she told a largely female audience of about 125 people gathered at the Chestnut Hill home of philanthropists and Democratic activists Elaine and Gerald Schuster....

Really tough to give up your golf games and your lavish vacations. Probably causes him a lot of stress.
Not to worry. Come January 2013 he’ll have all the time in the world. He’ll just have to pay for them out of his own pocket.
LOL—best community-organizing gig in the country, and he’s not up to the task.
If its too much perhaps he should retire early. I wouldn’t hold it against him.
>>How she and her husband can say these things with a straight face is what amazes me.<<
If it’s any consolation, I couldn’t read it with a straight face. The Onion has some competition coming from the Boston Globe. :-)
When Hillary defamed that office we thought it couldn’t get any worse.
There you have it folks. To them it's all just a game. Hop in the jet ...take a few dozen friends to England for a five star holiday ...make a speech and raise some funds ...get a massage from Chris Matthews or Oprah...
“You know, I hope his wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter and he dies early, like many black men do, of heart disease. Well, thats how I feel. He is an absolutely reprehensible person.”*

Poor first lady. It’s gotta be rough taking million dollar vacations.
This guy will never pay for anything the rest of his life. Neither will most politicians.
Step down!!!
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. What gov job will he run for after 2013? Will he be anointed to some UN position?
These people have their priorities. He could have done anything during the first year of office when his party controlled both houses of Congress with lopsided 60% margins, including a filibuster-proof Senate. All he did was dig the hole deeper.
Regardless of whether or not this is true (which it is not in a historical sense)... I wonder what they thought they were signing up for?
Me too. What a whopper this one is.
Keep reading the article and see the menu!!
How would she know, they are on vacation most the time.
Yeah. Tell your husband this ain't a f***ing game!
