The allegation of sexual assault by a New York hotel chambermaid against then IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Khan (DSK) on May 14 seemed like a slam dunk.
Here was DSK, a powerful man with a long history of aggressive womanizing on a grand scale, a man known to be impervious to propriety, ethics and professional boundaries in his pursuit of new conquests.
The 32-year old chambermaid, his alleged victim, on the other hand, appeared to be the poster woman for female powerlessness. She is an immigrant from Guinea and a single mother, struggling to make ends meet.

Okay, one question. Since there is forensic evidence, his semen, on her clothing, does being a “liar” mean that she could not have been raped? And of course, nobody can rape a prostitute or an illegal alien, gang member or drug user.

He doesn’t have to prove that he is innocent. He MUST be proven quilty. A good system, and one that should not be discarded in order to make it easier to prove rpae charges.
On the other hand, my gut feeling is that he did it.
All third party they said she did, that is not evidence. Her banking accost is none of the defenses business.
I don’t care what the guy is, he deserves a fair trial.
Think about it, this woman could have planned the whole thing. She could have gotten the job at the swanky hotel for this exact purpose, thinking that the matter would be settled out of court.
I am not saying that is what happened, but it is a possibility.
But, will you deny that you raped the maid?? Can you prove it was not you??
The only defense that you could have is that you were not physically present at that time. If you were present at the time of the accusation, in private with the accuser, you could not prove your Innocence!!
That's why I make it a point to not be in private with any woman that is or might become a threat to me.
No the evidence already says he did it. He has no defense, that is why he is attempting to try the case in public where some people think allegations are fact, even if said allegations would never be allowed in a court room.
I learned different, the hard way, from a judge. In the eyes of the law, when it comes to sex, if there is opportunity and accusation, then there is a prima facie case.

Lack of DNA does not prove innocence. It just implies a condom was used. Don't forget, the Duke La Cross players were accused of rape with a broom handle. Does a broom handle leave DNA??
Every man should put some effort into understanding the rape laws in their state and area. Otherwise, you are ripe for the picking.
Very, very wrong. She don't have to prove anything. All she has to do is make the accusation. Then, the pros come in to do the proving. Those pros have a lot of formal training and experience in doing the proving and no conscience or sympathy for the accused.
If you don't know how the law works in a rape case, your a$$ is just hanging out there to take a beating.
