One of the whistleblowers who brought the massive Gun Walker scandal to light, ATF Special Agent Vince Cefalu, was terminated after a thirty-year career last week the day after House Oversight chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a warning letter to the Bureau, demanding a promise that there would be no retaliatory firings of whistleblowers.
Ironically, one of the reasons given for Cefalus termination was a lack of candor. He was previously turned into a desk ornament for daring to become a vocal critic of an illegal wiretap. Since he spoke up about Gun Walker, he spent most of his time changing batteries or filling cars with gas. He has described Operation Fast and Furious, designed to flood Mexico with American guns, as a violation of the law, maintaining there was no intent to follow the guns this never had a chance of succeeding.
It doesnt sound like Cefalu suffers from a lack of candor. Perhaps hes recalcitrant by the boisterous standards of the ATF, where things are rowdy due to all the alcohol and tobacco.
Meanwhile, the Washington Post so helpful to the Administration at key moments in the Gun Walker saga ran an astonishing editorial this week, in which they tried to finger the gun-rights lobby as the true culprit behind this rogue ATF operation. The Post mourned the reductions in the ATFs meager budget and restricted ability to share information with other law enforcement agencies brought about by the NRA and certain lawmakers, who are concerned to the point of paranoia about the erosion of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
You know what is demonstrably not paranoia? The fear that youll be walking down a street in Mexico and get blown away by a gun supplied by the Bureau of Alcohol,...

It’s outrageous, I could never conceive such a shameless piece of manure from even the WaPo.
This is good news, however, that the usual suspects are reduced to resorting to such desperate tactics.
From the brief notice that the Human Events article linked to, I can’t simply assume that Chuckie Schumer and Elijah Cummings are necessarily going to be holding a mock hearing to try and exonerate the perps and upstage Issa’s investigation however.
From their statements it sounds like it’s just possible that this latest outrage was too much for even them to stomach. Though I’m sure the main purpose will be to hammer everyone involved except Obama and Holder.
“...The RINOs dont have the guts to pursue anything...”
You’re right. RINOs don’t/won’t.
But a Conservative Republican IS pursuing it. Darryl Issa.
We should give him ALL the help he needs by calling our congresscritters and DEMANDING they blow this thing wide open.
Issa will look like a fool if he doesn't go for Holder's resignation or impeachment, depending on what Melson's testimony turns out to be. He told Holder in his committee hearing that he thinks Holder was involved in Gun Walker. Holder said, in effect, he took that as an insult. We're talking about a lot of dead people.
RINO’s are life forms operating under the umbrella of the Republican Party with Leftist voting records, therefore it should not be a surprise they won’t go against their own.
I found the same thing. Only one blog talks about Mexico extraditing anyone involved in Fast and Furious. It claims Mexican newspapers first reported the intent of the Mexican gov to extradite on March 10th and another report on March 28th that Mexico’s AG vowed to extradite. I searched on several search engines and that was all I got. You wouldn’t think that Special Report got their info from one lone blog. Internet scrubbing going on?
Holder needs to frog-walked!
This goes all the way to Obama. He knew and he approved.
“Internet scrubbing going on?”
Whatever clean-up is going on goes well beyond the blog-o-sphere.
The world is scary under the Obama regime.
Let’s face it, any plausible RINO would be a vast improvement over this mysterious, muslim-esque COMMUNIST cipher.
Juan Carlos McCain is looking gosh darn good right about now.
That's a bridge too far for me.
Latest word is Mexico is seeking extradition of ATF and/or DOJ people reponsible for aiding murderers in Mexico.
This is just going to get bigger and bigger. The next attempt to stop the inquiry will be for Holder to walk the olank but that will only lead to the White House and the Oval Office. Stay tuned a-hole.
Just because I am old enough to remember the sham hearings of the 90s and mature enough not to be fooled by these vain repetitions, it does not mean I’m an “a-hole”. I was sure they would get Clinton, too.
I do not care how may people like you I offend, If I can wake up one person to the fact that we no longer have representation and rule of law in our government anymore.
You need to understand that if I am wrong, then good for America. By the time people like you realize that you are wrong, than it’s too late for this Republic.
Stay tuned. You will be disappointed.
