Theres a lot I dont know about Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota Representative who just announced that she wants to be the next President of the United States of America, but I do know she is great eye candy and, given the present occupier of the office, I would much rather look at her in the Oval Office than him.
She isand I say this with all due respecta babe.
Mitt Romney, with whom she is currently a front runner in the nomination sweepstakes, looks classically presidential. He is a handsome fellow with a winning smile. My guess, though, is that if Texas Governor Rick Perry gets in the GOP race, all bets are off or, more accurately, all bets will be on him. Gov. Perry has a certain John Wayne cragginess about him and a track record of success in the Lone Star State.
I would like to say that the presidency is not a beauty contest, but to some degree it is..........
[BIG snip]
Rep. Bachmann is a Tea Party conservative and that has been gaining traction. I would vote for her just because she wants to repeal Obamacare....
Given the savage treatment accorded Gov. Palin, we shall soon know how much Rep. Bachmann scares the Left by how quickly they begin to photoshop her head on photos of porn star bodies. Their dementia knows no bounds.
....Let us keep our eye on the prize which in this case is to send Barack Hussein Obama packing; back to his beloved Chicago where he can pig out on fast food with Rahm Emanuel, Bill Ayers, and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Bachmann was in my top four (well behind Palin but a candidate I could support and volunteer in her campaign). She's still there, although I'll admit that I'm more than a bit curious what happened behind the scenes both in her campaign and between her and Palin after Rollins again demonstrated his flaws. So long as Sarah supports her or at least doesn't come out against Michele Bachmann, I'm not going to hold that against Bachmann to the extent of risking the 2012 election.
More than anything else in the world, what matters for the next two years is not just removing the anti-American communist from our White House but replacing that druggie with someone who will dismantle ObamaCare and the rest of the Chicago thug's legacy. Bachmann is one of the few who would do exactly that, and I'm not going to reject her over whether an apology was given in public, in private, or not at all. To do so would play into Romney's hands, and that would spell the end of America.

Amen! and well said.
I offer this for your consideration. This was an interview bachmann gave only 2 years ago. I think it is telling of exactly who and what she is.

From The Hill:
Bachmann was a Jimmy Carter Democrat
Speaking to the St. Cloud Times about her growing role on the national stage, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) references her past as a diehard Carter-Mondale supporter:
Q: Youve been described as Democrats Public Enemy No. 1. How do you feel about being a target?
A: In being forceful and fighting for the positions that Im standing for, I obviously must pose a threat for liberals advancing their agenda. I say that because I grew up a Democrat in a Democrat family. My husband and I both worked on Jimmy Carters presidential campaign. The first time I ever came to Washington was to dance at Walter Mondales inaugural ball. It was a thrill for my husband and me, and we were both happy to work on behalf of Walter Mondale and Jimmy Carter. We really believed in them when we were in college. So in some ways I dont understand why the Democratic Party would be opposed to me, because I stand for the same values that my parents stood for when we were Democrats”.

What were those democrat “values” when bachmann was a democrat and he parents were democrats and she was working for jimmy carter? Here you go... a snippet of the Values lain down in the 1980 democrat platform.

Here is Chapter ONE:
“Chapter I: The Economy A Commitment to Economic Fairness
The Democratic Party will take no action whose effect will be a significant increase in unemploymentno fiscal action, no monetary action, no budgetary actionif it is the assessment of either the Council of Economic Advisers or the Congressional Budget Office that such action will cause significantly greater unemployment.
In all of our economic programs, the one overriding principle must be fairness. All Americans must bear a fair share of our economic burdens and reap a fair share of our economic benefits.
High interest rates impose an unfair burdenon farmers, small businesses, and younger families buying homes. Recession imposes an unfair burden on those least able to bear it. Democratic economic policy must assure fairness for workers, the elderly, women, the poor, minorities and the majority who are middle class.”
I will include a snippet from Chapter Two... but if you stand for the values espoused in Chapter One... then one stands for the marxist policies of wealth redistribution.
“Chapter Two
Health
snip
To meet the goals of a program that will control costs and provide health coverage to every American, the Democratic Party pledges to seek a national health insurance program with the following features:
Universal coverage, without regard to place of employment, sex, age, marital status, or any other factor;
Comprehensive medical benefits, including preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, health maintenance and rehabilitation services, and complete coverage of the costs of catastrophic illness or injury;
Aggressive cost containment provisions along with provisions to strengthen competitive forces in the market place;
Enhancement of the quality of care;
An end to the widespread use of exclusions that disadvantage women and that charge proportionately higher premiums to women;
Reform of the health care system, including encouragement of health maintenance organizations and other alternative delivery systems;
Building on the private health care delivery sector and preservation of the physician-patient relationship;
Provision for maximum individual choice of physician, other provider, and insurer;
Maintenance of the private insurance industry with appropriate public regulation;”
snip
“In the 1980s we must move beyond these existing health care initiatives and tackle other problems as well. Long-Term Care
We must develop a new policy on long-term care for our elderly and disabled populations that controls the cost explosion and at the same time provides more humane care.
We must establish alternatives to the present provisions for long-term care, including adequate support systems and physical and occupational therapy in the home arid the community, to make it unnecessary to institutionalize people who could lead productive lives at home.
We must support legislation to expand home health care services under Medicare and other health programs. Visits from doctors, nurses and other health personnel are a cost-effective and necessary program for the elderly who often cannot travel to medical facilities. Without home health services, many elderly citizens would be forced to give up their homes and shift their lives to institutions. Multilingual Needs
We must support the utilization of bilingual interpreters in English-Spanish and other appropriate languages at federal and state-supported health care facilities. In addition, we support broader, more comprehensive health care for migrants.
These programs must increase the presence of men and minorities in nursing, and must be targeted toward women and minorities in other health professions. Minority and Women Health Care Professionals
We recognize the need for a significant increase in the number of minority and women health care professionals. We are committed to placing greater emphasis on enrollment and retention of minorities and women in medical schools and related health education professional programs. We are also committed to placing a greater emphasis on medical research and services to meet the needs of minorities, women and children. Reproductive Rights
We fully recognize the religious and ethical concerns which many Americans have about abortion. We also recognize the belief of many Americans that a woman has a right to choose whether and when to have a child. The Democratic Party supports the 1973 Supreme Court decision on abortion rights as the law of the land and opposes any constitutional amendment to restrict or overturn that decision. Furthermore, we pledge to support the right to be free of environmental and worksite hazards to reproductive health of women and men. We further pledge to work for programs to improve the health and safety of pregnancy and childbirth, including adequate prenatal care, family planning, counseling, and services with special care to the needs of the poor, the isolated, the rural, and the young. Financially Distressed Public Hospitals
Frequently, the only sources of medical care for much of the inner city population is the public general hospital. The ever-increasing costs of providing high quality hospital services and the lack of insurance coverage for many of the patients served have jeopardized the financial stability of these institutions. Immediate support is required for financially distressed public hospitals that provide a major community service in urban and rural areas. In underserved areas where public hospitals have already been closed because of financial difficulty, we must explore methods for returning the needed hospitals to active service. We must develop financial stability for these hospitals. Our approach should stress system reforms to assure that more primary medical care is provided in free-standing community centers, while the hospital is used for referral services and hospitalization. Medicaid Reimbursement
The Democratic Party supports programs to make the Medicaid reimbursement formulae more equitable. Unnecessary Prescriptions”
Who is ever ready for the Presidency?
Very good point.
“Mitt” Romney always looks like a sleazy used-car salesman to me
And his behaviour proves it too.
What has he said or done recently to make the media believe he is the ‘front runner’
Unlike their predecessors, every move and utterance is recorded and able to be either highlighted or buried by the media.
Even worse is the ease with which myth is turned into truth by the media's repeating of lies over and over until they are accepted. If you asked 100 people who said "I can see Russia from my house" probably 95% would say it was Sarah Palin.
In a similar fashion, important things happen and if no one ever hears about it, it's like it never occurred. Yesterday, WI Freshman Senator Ron Johnson ripped Congress a new one over not having produced a budget for the past two years, (as is their Constitutional duty btw). He also indicated he will be withholding his consent for future Senatorial proceedings until this issue is addressed.
This is pretty big stuff - how many people even had a clue it happened?
That needed repeating
I think that Ronald Reagan was. He had spent the previous 25 years thinking about policy issues, writing and delivering a series of radio addresses that discussed national problems and offered possible solutions to them. He was governor of the largest state in the union for two terms, faced down obnoxious students and grasping unions, and left the state in better financial shape than he had found it. By the time Reagan became President, he has been tested and was ready to assume its mantle.
He was governor of the largest state in the union for two terms................................................You might wanta back up and re-evaluate that statement.
Bachmann believes in global warming?? Where did you see that?
She isand I say this with all due respecta babe
.............
Well we know this could never be said about Dum women for two reasons.
1) Majority are ugly as hell
2) Dum women would attack this guy mercilessly as a misogynist pig.
Agreed. And to put a finer point on it, NO rinos. No more compromise happy Bush-Dole-Ford non-conservative moderate republicans.
No more posers(!) who put on the mantle of Constitutional conservatism to give a stump speech and take it off when the cameras and microphones are turned off.
Even an obama, a McLame or a Lindsey Graham can do that and we have $14 trillion reasons and counting why that NEVER works!
The campaign slogan for 2012 is "Last chance to get it right, America!"
This is totally a media manufactured gaff.
As if there were any other kind . . .If "57 states" - spoken by a US senator who operated (briefly, I admit) in a body of 100, two from each state - isn't a gaffe, there is no objective definition of the term.
Dang FR spell check
unitized = unnoticed
No public apology?
Boo hoo
“She’d give a dog a bone!”
