Unlike their predecessors, every move and utterance is recorded and able to be either highlighted or buried by the media.
Even worse is the ease with which myth is turned into truth by the media's repeating of lies over and over until they are accepted. If you asked 100 people who said "I can see Russia from my house" probably 95% would say it was Sarah Palin.
In a similar fashion, important things happen and if no one ever hears about it, it's like it never occurred. Yesterday, WI Freshman Senator Ron Johnson ripped Congress a new one over not having produced a budget for the past two years, (as is their Constitutional duty btw). He also indicated he will be withholding his consent for future Senatorial proceedings until this issue is addressed.
This is pretty big stuff - how many people even had a clue it happened?
