A new Hays Research poll shows Barrack Obama would beat Sarah Palin among Alaskans if the presidential election was today.
The poll found 42 percent of Alaskan voters would pick or are learning toward Obama in a head to head race against Palin for the presidency, while 36 percent of the voters would choose or are leaning toward Palin over him.
Conservative Anchorage radio host Mike Porcaro paid for Hays Research to ask the question.
Sarah Palin showcases her Alaska roots at every opportunity, but the surprising reality is she has become highly unpopular in her home state, Porcaro said in an emailed statement.
Whether it is the fact she left office after serving barely two years or that some Alaskans believe her tax policies have punished our vital oil and gas industry or the rock star nature of her media coverage, these results show Sarah Palin would lose to Obama in Alaska, where voters overwhelmingly support conservative candidates, Porcaro said.
Porcaro hosts an afternoon show on KENI AM and owns an Anchorage advertising agency.
Hays Research of Anchorage polled 500 Alaskans who voted in at least two of the four statewide elections. The poll was on June 21st and June 22nd.
It asked:
Although it is some time from now, thinking about the election for President of the United States next year, if the election were held today and the candidates were Democrat Barack Obama or Republican Sarah Palin, for whom would you vote or are you undecided?
Respondents who had strong views favored Obama 34 percent to Palins 25 percent.

So I geuss the hopey changey thing is working for Alaska, eh?
No - it’s shows this poll is bogus. Gee, how easily you are taken in.
Likely voters, but no other internals except to say they called a "random list."
I am not buying it. I’ll bet they over sampled Rats in order to get that result.

Possible, but 4.4% margin of error= crap poll.
In the primary she conceded, not in the general election. The general election returns were pretty clear from the outset that Murkowski had defeated Miller and that dopey McAdams stooge.
We won some nice victories this past November, but we did nominate a few duds and Miller turned out to be one of them.
No doubt at all... the info is on the web.

Yup. that’s what happens when you only poll your buddies...you get the results you want.
Exactly and then the liberal judge got involved.
All the MSM hatred is going to blow up in their faces if she runs. I ask all the people that say,”I hate that bitch” or “She’s stupid” what she’s said that was stupid or they didn’t agree with. They have no answer and become quiet. I tell them that they should actually listen to her before making an opinion.
This, IMHO, will be a determining factor. If she becomes the Republican front-runner there is no way the MSM can keep the American people from hearing her message. Even most liberals are disenchanted with their messiah and are looking for a way out. God be with her(and us) and let her voice be heard.
When you are a conservative, your popularity in the face of constant bad press, only exists when you can fight back, such as during holding an office that is in the public eye, or especially when you are campaigning and get to counter bad media with your own ads.
That is the old story for conservatives, hated in between elections, and then breaking all expectations on election days.
See post #86: “murkowski picked up the dim votes as they knew the dim could not win... so liberal dims and rinoid republican machine hacks that were aligned with the 40 year old murkowski political cabal... that so hated miller because Palin put him on top of murkowski the incumbent... next lawsuits were filed by murkowski and a recount ensued and more hanging chad lawsuits took place and she squeaked by on a bogus recount and corrupt vote counting.
LLS.”
The only way Sarah Palin could lose Alaska is if there was a 3rd party. As I was saying, this is just more of the MSM/Rep establishment trying to manufacture opinion.
Romney is not leading in Iowa, his own internal polls tell him Iowa is a lost cause. Bachmann`s numbers are also inflated... MSM/Rep establishment is pushing Bachmann
LLS
Bet you were screaming at your radio today when rushes replacement said she could not win. And all those polls you mention had the same 25 + % of no support.
What killed Miller in that close race, was the Senate Republicans endorsing the incumbent Republican Senator Murkowski, that wiped out Miller's position as the Primary winner and almost made him seem the non-republican.
