Via POLITICO's Jennifer Epstein, Michele Bachmann isn't accepting an apology from Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace for asking her yesterday, "Are you a flake?" Continue Reading
ABC News' Jon Karl, who's been getting face-time with Bachmann in Waterloo in advance of her formal campaign announcement, played a clip of the web video in which Wallace said, "I messed up. I'm sorry."
When Karl asked if she accepts the apology, Bachmann brushed aside the question this way: "I think that it's insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious."

Ed Rollins: "Why are my ears burning, all of a sudden...?"
I think Chris “showed a little leg” yesterday in his left-leaning politics. It will also allow him cover that he certainly will never ask that kind of question again, and certainly not to a Liberal who probably is better deserving of such question.
Did Wallace, or anybody on Faux, ever question anything about Obama? Anything? I’m talking about serious questioning here, looking at his background and asking serious questions.
The answer is, only one: Glenn Beck.
No one else. They line up to give the Big O big BJs.
What candidate did Rollings say that about.
What is on her chin in that picture? Seems like they could have published a better picture of her. Oh, wait. It’s POLITICO. Never mind.
That’s the core problem with idiots like Wallace. Insult, apologize. Insult, apologize. He got his question in and his “sound bite”. Time to move on to Romney and ask him his favorite pizza topping.
I proposed on the original thread on this yesterday she should have responded with a few of the president’s flakier statements and ask Chris if he would say something similar to him.
I cannot wait for the time one of the candidates gets to the point of getting up from their seats and lays one on one of these pin headed “news” hosts.
Reminds me of a story (true?) about a Texas Ranger Captain testifying. The defense attorney called him a liar. He got out of the witness stand and laid him out while proclaiming he defamed both the Texas Rangers and the State of Texas. He then approached the bench and asked what the fine was for assault and battery in the judges jurisdiction! Probably just some old lore but the point is you got to stop some of these clowns from going to far. Gingrich did it when asked by a host recently some absurd question and he threw it back on the host proclaiming you really cannot be implying such and such, no rational person would. I love it when the tables are turned.
To the Faux TV watcher.....
How about Neil Cavuto?
How about Brit Hume?
How about Charles Krauthammer?
The one who is unofficially running and the one who will win without running. LOL
Not a current candidate, but the most highly anticipated potential candidate. He made demeaning comments directly towards Sarah Palin.
Because of that blatant insult, I will not support Bachmann at any cost unless Rollins is dismissed.
To me, right now, Bachmann is a flake.
SHE blew that interview, not Chris Wallace. This is pure, out and out deflection from her lousy performance. And if I was Chris Wallace, I would NOT have apologized. This whole thing was reported ccmpletely out of context.
HE did not suggest that she was unserious OR a flake. He said that was the rap on her from OTHER people and he asked her straight out. Shame on her. She stunk up that whole interview. It was embarrassing.
Please, tell me more about Chris Wallace’s “left-leaning politics”.
Wallace’s sort-of apology was aimed more at the FoxNews Sunday viewers than to Bachmann.
Wallace got a mass of heated emails. I doubt the News Corp managed liked that onslaught.
The diss of Bachmann was serious enough that Wallace issued the video sort-of apology just hours after FNS aired.
Thats the core problem with idiots like Wallace. Insult, apologize. Insult, apologize. He got his question in and his sound bite. Time to move on to Romney and ask him his favorite pizza topping.
Always thought wallace (with a small w) was a twerp... 19th century term meaning silly or annoying, inclusive of fool... also a term much used in my high school days in the late 60’s... never really knew what it meant then, but I knew you didn’t want to be one. A nice moniker for wallace... wallace-the-twerp :})
I watched this yesterday. I was taken aback when he asked the question.
But she did a very good job answering it.
That was the wrong thing to say, Michelle.
That statement may have just sunk her candidacy.
Irony.
