BACHMANN TIES ROMNEY IN LATEST IOWA POLL, SUFFERS THE CONSEQUENCES ON FOX NEWS
Cypress Times ^ | June 26, 2011 | John G. Winder,

Posted on 06/26/2011 2:33:34 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

WASHINGTON, DC – A new Iowa poll, which shows the most recent leanings of likely Republican voters in the first-in-the-nation caucus state, has Michele Bachmann in a statistical dead heat with Mitt Romney. This morning Bachmann appeared on Chris Wallace’s Fox News Sunday and was asked “Are you a flake?” Was Wallace simply being a tough journalist, or is Fox News’ bias in favor of Mitt Romney showing?

Would Wallace ask Romney, "Are you a socialist?" in reference to Romneycare.

....Romney is well known to voters because of his 2008 presidential run. Given that he has a higher national name recognition among voters than do any of his announced opponents, it could be argued that if Romney were truly the people’s choice, he would be running away with the race. He isn’t.

And that makes Republican elites, the party faithful, very unhappy. It also seems to chap the backside of Fox News.

...a parade of talking head after talking head discredits the entire field of GOP candidates, and potential candidates from Sarah Palin to Rick Perry.

Fox......put Democratic strategist on the air this morning to assess the potential candidacy of Texas Governor Rick Perry. Basically, she said that she can’t believe we’re actually talking about the possibility of another “Texan” running. Amazing! Throw Rick Perry and the other 27 million of us who live in Texas under the bus.

Mention...Sarah Palin and Fox News gets mighty testy, despite the fact that Palin works for Fox News. Krauthammer has attacked Palin and Karl Rove is completely dismissive of the former Governor of Alaska.

..... The Cypress Times is unabashedly Christian and conservative and we will not be dishonest with our readers by pretending to be something we are not. I wish other media outlets would do the same. They won’t. ....

It’s in her eyes.

It was in her refrain to Wallace, “President Romney”

It was in her using Rollins to attack Gov. Palin.

It was in her refusal to admonish Rollins.

It was in her refusal to publicly apologize to Gov. Palin.

Bachmann - flavor of the week.

Cain ....flavor of last week.

Trump ..... flavor of the week before Cain.

Perry ....flavor of next week.

Bachmann supports ethanol subsidies and has recieved over 250k in farm subsidies with her family through a trust for a farm she owns with her family. On Oct. 5, 2009, Bachmann wrote Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack praising him for injecting money into the pork industry through the form of direct government purchases. She went on to request additional assistance.

Michele Bachmann wrote several letters to Bush adm in 2007 advocating a presidential pardon for Frank Vennes who was a large donor to her , Norm Coleman and Tim Pawlenty. Vennes pleaded guilty and no contest to federal charges of money laundering, cocaine and firearms trafficking in 1987.

Last week Bachmann was caught using taxpayer-funded congresional office accounts to pay for campaign appearances which makes her no better than a petty thief. Not illegal but highly unethical and against House rules.

All of these things are hints of a woman with a lack of character who might sell out in the WH.

Backstabber RINO Bachmann sent Rollins to attack Gov. Palin.

Get over it. She had him apologize.

Sadly, in your morally-challenged world do two wrongs make a right and are lies and smear tactics against other conservative candidates are acceptable.

Why not just save conservatives the embarrassment and become a liberal if you're going to lie and engage in smear tactics.

Although Rollins made a false apology

Bachmann ordered him to apologize. You have no proof she authorized the comments by Rollins.

All lies? Bachmann worked for Carter and IS VYING TO BE Romney's VP.

You said "protege"...That is a lie, she never was anykind of "protege" of Carter...and like a typical liberal, you only quote half the story.

Bachmann was a supporter of Jimmy Carter in 1976 and she and her husband worked on his campaign.[26] During Carter's presidency, Bachmann became disappointed with his liberal approach to public policy, support for legalized abortion and economic decisions she held responsible for increased gas prices. In the 1980 presidential election, she voted for Ronald Reagan and worked for his campaign.

Bachmann grew up in a Democratic family, but she says she became a Republican during her senior year at Winona State. She told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that she was reading Gore Vidal's 1973 novel, Burr: "He was kind of mocking the Founding Fathers and I just thought, I just remember reading the book, putting it in my lap, looking out the window and thinking, 'You know what? I don't think I am a Democrat. I must be a Republican.'"

She grew up in a Democrat family...but rose above it to become a conservative....Carter protege? Reagan was also a democrat for years....you want to say that there was something wrong with Reagan?

IS VYING TO BE Romney's VP. Today, she called Milt, "President Romney"

More rubbish. Your proof is?

Come on man, drop the hyperbole and lies. BTW, Bachmann isnt even looking at Mitt in the picture. sheesh she is looking at something over his shoulder...

Help me out here..

Did she refer to President Romney? I was so blown away by Matthews asking her if she was a flake I may have had a senior moment.

I think Matthews asking such a question was reprehensible..but I wasn't really happy with her answer.

Matthews lost a listener in me. I like Michele a lot, but she didn't shine today.

Revised Rush Limbaugh's KOOK Test

Take this test to see if you're a KOOK.

Do you believe powerful Americans are behind a world conspiracy to destroy the sovereignty of the United States of America?

Do you believe that the New World Order is a secret phrase used by conspirators to identify themselves to one another in a crowd?

Do you believe that the Federal Reserve exists as an institution for the conspirators to destroy the United States?

Do you believe that the eye in the pyramid in the dollar bill is a secret code of the New World Order?

Do you believe that David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, and other famous "one worlders" provide daily instructions to agents of the FBI, BATF, and the CIA?

Do you believe the CFR and the Tri-Lateral Commission serve as the front group to train and indoctrinate future one worlders?

Do you believe the Tri-Lateral Commission was created because too many bright people were onto the CFR?

Do you believe that CFR black helicopters, flown by U.N. pilots have been in the sky when American citizens have been shot on U.S. soil?

Do you believe that the feminist movement was the brainchild of David Rockefeller for the express purpose of having men and women at war with each other on a daily basis, so as to distract then from the real work of the CFR?

Do you consider Michele Bachmann to be a personal threat to your freedom?

If you answer even ONE of the above questions as "YES" then you are a KOOK!

Man, I wish I'd been there to respond to that idiot. My response would've been along the lines of well, it beats putting a Kenyan in the White House.

Bachmann has by far the easiest path in the general election of any of the conservative candidates. The MSM is just warming up their hate machine at this point.

Fox News is a business.

They sell advertising.

They got their foot in the door with conservatives, and as their “guest list” of interviewees has broadened so has their viewership and their bank balance.

Fair and a good bank Balance.

The only thing different with Fox is that they want to make money, the lamestream media don’t care — it’s about advocating for the Left.

humblegunner posted on Sunday, June 26, 2011 4:35:18 PM: “Why the hell do we let Iowa decide anything anyway?”

Because in Iowa, candidates for local, county and statewide office are still expected to do door-to-door campaigning, answer questions at town halls from ordinary citizens who can sometimes make well-polished professionals look like idiots, build a precinct-level organization from the ground up, and generally do the sort of politics that used to be normal throughout the United States.

Same for New Hampshire.

I don't think it's a bad thing that we force our candidates for president, many of whom are from major states where money talks, to act like candidates for a city council or county commission race.

One **HUGE** benefit is that candidates who don't have a lot of money but do have a lot of grassroots support have a fighting chance. Money can buy lots of organizing ability, but so can “connecting with the grassroots” — and having real grassroots support is more effective.

It's not a bad system, though obviously no system is perfect. I'm well aware of the problems (niteowl77 is entirely correct about the change in the Iowa electorate, which I'd argue was caused in part by dependence on government farm programs), but I'd rather take the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary than have a “money talks” system being the filter through which viable candidates must pass before the rest of us get a chance to vote.

RINOs suck" "Get over it. She had him apologize."

No she did not.

There has been no public apology.

Until then, Michele Bachmann remains a
declared Romney-RINO.
