WASHINGTON, DC – A new Iowa poll, which shows the most recent leanings of likely Republican voters in the first-in-the-nation caucus state, has Michele Bachmann in a statistical dead heat with Mitt Romney. This morning Bachmann appeared on Chris Wallace’s Fox News Sunday and was asked “Are you a flake?” Was Wallace simply being a tough journalist, or is Fox News’ bias in favor of Mitt Romney showing?
Would Wallace ask Romney, "Are you a socialist?" in reference to Romneycare.
....Romney is well known to voters because of his 2008 presidential run. Given that he has a higher national name recognition among voters than do any of his announced opponents, it could be argued that if Romney were truly the people’s choice, he would be running away with the race. He isn’t.
And that makes Republican elites, the party faithful, very unhappy. It also seems to chap the backside of Fox News.

Fox......put Democratic strategist on the air this morning to assess the potential candidacy of Texas Governor Rick Perry. Basically, she said that she can’t believe we’re actually talking about the possibility of another “Texan” running. Amazing! Throw Rick Perry and the other 27 million of us who live in Texas under the bus.
Mention...Sarah Palin and Fox News gets mighty testy, despite the fact that Palin works for Fox News. Krauthammer has attacked Palin and Karl Rove is completely dismissive of the former Governor of Alaska.

Wallace was rude in asking this question, and I agree with previous posters that I have never heard a male politician asked such a question.
That being said, I thought Michelle did great today. She answered the "flake" question quite well (referring to it as insulting), and then went on to cover her qualifications, etc. I think she looked good, sounded good --- certainly didn't sound like a flake.

The anti-Texas bigotry being expressed on TV is stunning. The talking heads are actually saying it out loud. We know they hate the south, the southwest, and all conservatives everyplace.
But it’s finally open season on the people who populate fly-over country.
The opening round in that war is their “Hate Texas” campaign! Every citizen in America should note that millions and millions of Americans have been written off by the media...and that because those people happen to live in Texas.

Americans have been backed into what amounts to a corner, and they are sick of 70% being forced to live like a vocal 20% demand. I think the Tea Party movement is a reflection of this. We are fed up and pushing back. Not going to give one more inch.

Michele Bachmann's new top consultant, Ed Rollins, began his tenure with scathing criticism of potential Bachmann rival Sarah Palin. "Sarah has not been serious over the last couple of years," Rollins told Brian Kilmeade on his radio show, Kilmeade and Friends. "She got the Vice Presidential thing handed to her, she didn't go to work in the sense of trying to gain more substance, she gave up her governorship."
SOME Bachmann fans here have forgiven her for slighting Palin. Although Rollins made a false apology, Bachmann, to my knowledge, has said nothing about this.
And, if Palin doesn't run, as things stand now, I'll support Bachmann for POTUS, (and hold a slight grudge.)
