CHURCHILL COUNTY, Nev. -- At least two people were killed and about 20 others were injured in a fiery collision between a Sacramento-bound Amtrak train and a semitrailer on a rural northern Nevada highway.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Lopez said the truck driver and one person on the train were killed in the 11:25 a.m. Friday accident about 70 miles east of Reno.
He says an unknown number of other people on the train were injured and are being taken by ambulances to the hospital.

Well if that's the case then the authorities will do everything they can to make sure we don't find out much about him, and the story will fade away quickley. They will also make sure (if he's illegal) that he doesn't get deported.
Still no ID on the driver. And there’s a new take this morning: Distracted driving was responsible for the accident.
=======================
NO! That information, according to Janet Napolitano, will only add to your Islamophobia! Therefore, she isn't going to release anything about the deceased driver.
“Can someone tell me how many more people would have been killed if this were a high speed train that most liberals want including Zero??Just wondering.”
Actually zero, because high-speed tracks have to be separated. Grade crossings are the principal reason why we can’t have high-speed rail in this country.
NO cheers, unfortunately.
Someone ought to call the trucking company and get the driver logs to see who was assigned to that truck.
Gravel = heavy = momentum. Would be consistent with wanting to derail a passenger train.
Shall we coin the word "Islaimkaze?" NO cheers, unfortunately.
If this was a plain, old suicide, there's a lot more freight trains than passenger trains.
The driver was the sole occupant of the semi, which was pulling two empty gravel trailers.
Yeah, right. “Distracted.” That’s the second-day rewrite.
The reality is s large, heavy truck purposely crashed through guardrails to hit the center of a moving train. There was no “trying to beat the train before it crossed the tracks.” This driver intentionally aimed for the center passenger cars and that’s what he hit.
People should demand to know the name of the driver.
From the pictures, that looks like it was at the junction of US-95 (coming north across the 40 mile desert) out of Fallon and I-80.
Basically a whole lotta nuthin’ there other than alkaline flats and rabbitbrush.
Emeryville was the final destination for train No. 5, the California Zephyr,It's sacrilege to call that thing the California Zephyr.
A Zephyr is just a breeze from the west or western wind.

And still no ID on the driver?
A Zephyr is just a breeze from the west or western wind."The California Zephyr" Was a now famous Western Pacific passenger tain with dome cars that traveled from Oakland Ca. to Chicago Il. through the scenic California Feather River Canyon before the Oroville dam was built.
There is even a replica if not a real passenger car on display at Disneyland in Anaheim Ca. with the Zephyr name plate.
To go even farther, my dad was a conducter on the Zephyr in the late 50's...I rode the Zephyr through the Feather River Canyon and the central valley from Keddie Ca. to Stockton Ca. in the late 50's
Do a Google Yahoo search on "California Zephyr"
It sounds like many more dead most likely. And it seems very possible it wasn’t accidental.

hit in the middle of the train, looks like it is a terror attack.

They know who the truck driver was. So where's the rest of the information on him?
This photo was taken by a passenger. The truck hit the fourth car - the second passenger car following two engines.
No idea. The article mentioned it is a wide open stretch of highway. Locals mentioned it would have been very hard to not have seen the train.
That's all I know from reading the sfgate article.
