Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) on Wednesday knocked down media reports that her nationwide bus tour has come to an end after completing only its first leg.

Palin, a potential presidential candidate, sought to put an end to speculation that her "One Nation" tour is over. The talk was sparked by a RealClearPolitics report said that it's going on hiatus. Other news organizations reported that the tour is coming to an end.

"I did? Hmm, glad I have media to let me know my plans.

I'd like to visit Gettysburg as well. I've never been there. Funniest comment I ever heard there: A woman asked her husband how so many guys were killed when they could have hidden behind all the marble monuments.

I got three hours overtime waiting for her. Works for me.

Was ready to say, "Welcome to Chocolate World" then escort her, etc. to the free ride to see how chocolate is made.

More like realistic. I think it’s wishful thinking to believe think that SP can undo 3 years of relentless attacks from this October to next November.

You be more realistic. She undid a generation of corruption in Alaska in quite a short time. MB needs to convince ME she isn't Ross Perot in drag. Until then, I'll support Palin. Just remember: There's no way Ronald Reagan can win the election.

That's sad. My sob story is that she came to a book signing here a year back, and I got called on shift that morning. Lessee heah... meet Madam President To Be Elect ... or make the mortgage... decisions, decisions.

Shifting gears, SarahPac should sell The Undefeated DVD's outright, now. I'll take 100 at $100, Alex. Is that a donation - um, no, it's an expensive DVD.

The funny thing is that the original building burned down back in the 1930's.

After the battle, souviner hunters found the cannonball in the attic and the building's owner mounted it in the wall, near the spot where it hit. It was salvaged from the original building after it was destroyed in a fire and placed back in roughly the same location.

About half a mile south of there, near the old intersection of Hawkins Drive and Dixie Highway, is a farm that still has some of the old Union defensive positions visible. Unfortunately the farmer won't let visitors go out there, as far too many people were tearing up his property.

Statements like “seeing Russia from her house” goes completely over the dimwits heads.

Have to laugh at their stupidity every time they bring it up.

She needs to be working on those votes now

If and when she announces, she'll have all the instant money bombs and voters she wants. She doesn't have to do anything but what she's doing. Letting America know who she is.

"It was salvaged from the original building after it was destroyed in a fire and placed back in roughly the same location. "

I had no idea. I just always thought it was funny to see a wall with no damage, but with half a cannon ball sticking out. The big arrow pointing to it was just icing on the cake.

John Hunt Morgan's subsequent career was somewhat unfortunate. That's what he gets for shelling E-town.

The citizenry of E-Town were very forgiving. They opened their houses to the Confederate forces. Apparently the Union troops garrisoning the town were quite belligerent to the locals, despite the fact that Kentucky was officially neutral.

"They opened their houses to the Confederate forces."

Morgan was from Lexington, so I bet many of his boys were related to, or knew, the locals in E-town.

Morgan's brother-in-law, Basil Duke, was on a scouting mission in the E-town area when he was spotted and recognized by Union troops. He knew that since he was in civilian clothing he could be hanged as a spy. As he ran down the railroad tracks, a local sympathizer delayed his pursuers long enough for Duke to get away.

As an interesting aside, Benjamin Helm, the Confederate general from E-Town who was killed at Chickamauga, was married to Mary Todd Lincoln's half-sister. When Lincoln learned of this, he went into mourning.

They talk about the Civil War being "brother against brother" and KY really exemplified that - I think more than many other states. I think Mary Todd had several siblings that fought for the Confederacy while she was the First Lady for the Union.

A large portion of Kentucky’s citizenry stayed neutral in the war, but 100,000 men went North, while another 35,000 went South. Almost all Kentuckians fought in the Western theater, but one Union light artillery battery did end up in the East, where they fought several battles in northern Virginia before being assigned to the defense of Washington.

How right you are.

Many of us are waiting (too breathlessly) for Sarah to announce, claiming she can’t make up her mind — how do you know it isn’t already made up? I knew it was when she bought the house in AZ. Whatever she wants to say publicly about her delay is her business. I’ve read about the July 24th or 26th deadline for facetious ethics complaints being filed, and because she’s smart, I expect her to wait that out. Yup, it’s hard waiting another 5 weeks, but come on ..... are we children still demanding instant gratification? Or can we be patient and trust that she knows what she’s doing, one way or the other. We will know when it’s time and not before. She says when it’s time. Not us.

After trying to teach children and grandchildren Patience, I hope I’ve learned some myself (even tho my tagline disagrees) and hope we can all practice some. The election is over 16 months away. What’s the hurry? In 1964, when I got involved in my first campaigning for Barry Goldwater, he had not announced his decision to seek the presidency until January of that year. Well, never mind the outcome - they only think they can destroy Sarah Palin. Why give them even more time to try?

If we want to trust her as our president, and I do, why don’t we just start trusting her now?
