Chris Matthews stopped by Real Time with Bill Maher tonight to serve on the show’s panel, and he really likes Michele Bachmann. Her name came up and Matthews immediately referred to her as “my hero,” predicted she’d beat Mitt Romney in the New Hampshire primary, and praised her for being “real.” This is probably where we make a “thrill up my leg” reference.
Fellow panelist Ross Douthat strongly disagreed on the New Hapshire point, but Matthews wasn’t getting swayed. He talked about how Bachmann “stands for something.”

Tea party favorite Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., has unveiled a plan for cutting $400 billion in federal spending that includes freezing Veterans Affairs Department health care spending and cutting veterans’ disability benefits.

WTF?! Looks like that talk about her getting on the Romney bandwagon has some meat to it!! IIRC, no Romney has ever served in uniform since they came here, so what are veteran's benefits to them but a liability? Now taxes on trust funds, hedge funds and stock sales is another matter....

Yes I like her, but something didn't sit right when she got passed over for any GOP positions, ditto that starting a Tea Party Caucus, we don't need Caucus, or K Street Lobbyist.
My gut feel? She ends up being the staking horse for Sarah and throws her supporters her way. Ditto that Herman Cain.
It may end up being Perry ( Establishment is trying to sell him to us ) vs. Palin.
