Chris Matthews stopped by Real Time with Bill Maher tonight to serve on the shows panel, and he really likes Michele Bachmann. Her name came up and Matthews immediately referred to her as my hero, predicted shed beat Mitt Romney in the New Hampshire primary, and praised her for being real. This is probably where we make a thrill up my leg reference.
Fellow panelist Ross Douthat strongly disagreed on the New Hapshire point, but Matthews wasnt getting swayed. He talked about how Bachmann stands for something.

“He was her biggest critic until last week. Is he being sarcastic”
It looks like the media is promoting their “pigeon”. They will build her up hoping she is the last one standing to get the GOP nomination. Once she has that in hand they will due a 180 and tear her down so that the dimoKKKRAT gets the nomination. In this case Obama. All a ruse folks.
IIRC that maggot was incredibly vile toward Bachmann during the campaign last year?
And now she’s his hero. Interesting.
Kiss of death..something is VERY wrong when Chrissy Matthews says he likes u..
It happened with Reagan, it happened with Ariel Sharon
/// true. i agree.
but, it happened over many YEARS, not weeks.
and it happened because they EARNED a grudging respect, by ACTIONS, and integrity.
...not overnight from a single debate.
no, this is something else. i don’t know what, but the “Romney stalking horse” theory at least fits the facts.
Today Bachmann refuses to comment on or critcize Romneycare. Chris Mathews returns the favor by complimenting Bachmann.
Chrissy likes Bachmann not going rogue.
You mean the republican nomination? Well, so do I.
I have become increasingly disenchanted with Bachmann this year. Her Tea Party response to the SOTU seemed self-serving. Picking Rollins as campaign manager, not speaking out when Rollins attacked Palin, refusing to criticize Massachusetts healthy care, someone from the WSJ helping with her memoirs, etc. It just doesn't add up ... or maybe it does,
Where "mean ideas" = cutting taxes, spending, and the size and scope of gov't.
Dunno but Al Gore hearts Romney.
This is just...weird.
Chrissy is on something, he has to be.
it works in reverse too. i’ve seen many people here, admit a grudging respect for Kucinich. he may be a crazy liberal, but, he seems to have an intregrity that others lack. like his recent quoting the constitution and slamming Obama over Libya and the War Powers Act.
...but again, this is a process of long observation.
not overnight.
...and this isn’t just Matthews. earlier today, someone posted an article from the Brookings Institute, gushing over Bachmann almost as much as Matthews.
(maybe similar words...? like their old “Journolist” group?) ...it’s strange. and i don’t really care, because i honestly like Cain better than Romney or Bachmann, because i think he understands the dangers of Islam better, AND he’s got better real-world experience to fix the economy.
Michele will probably hire one or more of those soon and we’ll find out then. I can’t wait! :)
great post! sounds like basic behavior modification in psychology. ...reward the behavior you desire.
(and if it misbehaves, wack it on the nose !)
This is a joke, right?
Kucinich had my respect until he caved to Zero on the health care bill for a ride on AF1.
He had my respect, because he wasn’t afraid to debate his ideas and he was honest about what he believed. If every Dem was like Kucinich, we’d have audited the fed and implemented the Fair Tax by now.
He can be correct without truly being supportive. That’s getting harder, being correct that is. He’s just smart enough to know he won’t get away with picking her apart. Too much smiling there when the BM made a joke about the octomom.
When liberals say good things about Republicans either: 1. they are up to no good or 2. the Republican is weak (Richard Lugar, Michael Bloomberg and Lincoln Chaffee (when they were Republicans).
He’s quite the fickle boy—and wearing soggy pants!
