Gingrich demands apology from NBC for report on wife

Newt Gingrich is demanding an apology from NBC News after it aired a report citing complaints from unnamed former advisers blaming his wife, Callista, for many of the problems that led to his campaign's staff shake-up last week.

"I believe NBC owes Callista an apology, because the fact is my campaign is my campaign," Gingrich said in an interview with Fox News's Greta Van Susteren. "Yes, we make decisions as a couple, but in the end, I take full responsibility. And I think the program this morning was totally irresponsible, and personally reprehensible, and the kind of thing that makes it hard to get decent people to run for public office."

oh, from the Dems’ perspective, Calista is the perfect stereotype of a Republican woman. Too white, too blonde, too coiffed, too expensively dressed, etc., etc., etc. They think that’s the very embodiment of the DC species of Republican women. Then, in their view, Outside the Beltway Republican/conservative/tea party women are straight out of “The People of WalMart.” But THEY don’t stereotype or profile.

Says the pompous intellectual of a report on his former adultery-complicit paramour, now wife.

Bwaaaaahaaaahhhhaaaaaaaa!

You all know don't you that he knew from the git-go he wouldn't make it. He just wants to get the campaign cash and pay off a few jewelry debts - take a foreign cruise or two.

Newt’s third wife...having an affair and breaking up a marriage puts her and him in the -0 category. IF one can’t be faithful in a marriage...one can’t be trusted in any office of power. Our Founders spoke about integrity many times.

I disagree with some of what you have to say. A $500,000 debt that reeks of quid pro quo is not the sort of baggage that one wants in a Presidential candidate. I do make a decision about a person, especially a person with money and unlimited choices, when his/her appearance draws ridicule. Donald Trump’s hair is one such instance. The creepy finished product Callista Gingrich is showing the world is another.

Agreed I also noticed Newt was the only one that took on the media in the debate and he took on the Islamists too. He is definitely moving in the right direction, IMHO.

Mr Gingrich , I have news for you. You seem to be in a bad place in politics. Your current wife is already making waves.
The jewelry, the staff quitting and your change in behavior.
You do not stand a chance in hell of being elected. All of your emails for money to me go into the trash. Your greatest political days are behind you. I once admired your grasp of history. The big glitch in your campaign? Your wife. She should be in the background supporting you quietly. She should not be the point person or equally involved in what you are trying to do.

Nope. Obummer uses “I” to the exclusion of all other pronouns.

So the wife ran off staffers? Maybe she should have shared her recipe for gin soaked raisins with them.

I think that is a “real” photo of Mrs. Newt. She looks creepy (mainly) because of her eyes. She has that “Runnaway bride” look...Remember her? The white shows all around the iris. It’s the look of a crazy woman. Look at the homeless women on the street...You see this a lot.

One other guy that throws his wife's name into every sentence is Dick Morris. It's not quite as bad as Newt, but pretty bad. I wonder if she was the one sucking his toe when he was caught doing this years ago?

“I do make a decision about a person, especially a person with money and unlimited choices, when his/her appearance draws ridicule. Donald Trump’s hair is one such instance.”

What a shame. I think it’s WHO a person is that’s important. Although it’s generally correct that a person’s appearance can be an indication, Callista’s appearance is not so unusual so as to merit some of the comments I’ve read. I often suspect that these comments are made without regard to knowing anything else about her. The same goes for Trump. There are MANY men who manipulate their hair in similar ways. Most of the people who know Mr. Trump seem to like him. I want to stress here that there is a good-natured way to poke fun at some of this.....but, we have to realize that it can also very easily go the way of hateful, uncharitable comments. Such comments can reflect poorly on all conservatives.

“A $500,000 debt that reeks of quid pro quo is not the sort of baggage that one wants in a Presidential candidate.”

Are you saying that purchasing something expensive is to frowned upon?

I think most of us are tired of politicians who do not live up to the solid conservative principles they claim. However, I think we conservatives need to be aware that the liberals would love to have us all fighting each other over the slightest difference of opinion....and they ARE working to divide us. We need to be careful not to get pulled into this. Additionally, conservatives (I would HOPE) will rise above some of the rather nasty ad hominem that that has become the brand of liberals. We should demonstrate a more virtuous type of dialogue. This doesn’t mean that we can’t have some fun with candidates who do silly or hateful things. It means that we should not indiscriminately tear down those with whom we disagree in a very non-humorous manner that is basically simply hateful.
I like to think that we conservatives are better than that. ;-)

That was so spot-on that I felt it needed to be re-posted!

I liked Newt, just not for President. He is a very intelligent political historian and thinker who could have some very worthwile input on resolving some of our lingering issues as a nation. Just not sure in what capacity he would best serve.

Newt, like a lot of very smart people seems to have less intelligence relating to their ability to handle personal matters or a grasp of some people’s true intentions, including hitlery, nasty peelousi and maybe his wife.
