Video: New Jersey Gov. Christie cornered on homosexual views

LIVINGSTON, New Jersey, June 15, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - One of America’s top conservative personalities distanced himself from his Catholic faith’s teachings on homosexuality, saying that he believes homosexuals are “born that way” and therefore it is “very difficult” to call homosexuality sinful.

CNN’s Piers Morgan asked Republican New Jersey governor Chris Christie in an interview that aired Tuesday night: “Is homosexuality a sin?”

“Well my religion says it’s a sin. I mean I think - but for me? I don’t - I’ve always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual, and so I think if someone is born that way, it’s very difficult to say then that that’s a sin,” said Christie. “But I understand that my Church says that, but for me personally, I don’t look upon someone who’s homosexual as a sinner.”

The Republican governor, who has come into national favor for his no-nonsense approach to fiscal responsibility and strong pro-life views, opposes same-sex “marriage” but is a proponent of homosexual civil unions.

“I think we can have civil unions that can help to give the same type of legal rights to same sex couples that marriage gives them,” he told Morgan.

How dare he say such things! I can never support him now!

Instead I will go back to posting the homosexual website Hillbuzz, praising Breitbart with his big old gay parties, and keep making excuses for Anne Coulter.

I could care less whether being gay is born-in or not. I just want my kids LEFT ALONE by these animals.

...and gays (at least publicly) say they’d much rather be straight. If so, why are they more and more into recruiting mode?

He should have asked: “What did President Obama say when he was asked this?”

Oh Chris, foreswear thy name, and admit that thou hast no doctrine then. Everything goes.

“..He also lacks political judgment for even answering that question...”

And the ONLY answer to that, or ANY of the social issue gotcha questions is this:

“How is that relevant to getting people back to work and fixing the economy that this Democrat Administration wrecked, so people can feed their families? Social issues are for the people of each individual state to decide.”

Throw THAT right back in the face of the interchangeable libidiot reporter...

Perhaps he thinks it’s logical to oppose the church and say homosexuality is OK in order to be elected?

Christie not only opposes the church, he opposes God.

This answer is as bad as supporting the slaughter of the unborn. He is Giuliani category for me now.

We all have differing opinions and we all cope with the world differently, some by being a part of it some not so much.

“Well, I don’t believe that God makes mistakes, but if YOU never run into something that seems like God’s mistake TO YOUR HUMAN UNDERSTANDING, then you lead a very sheltered life.”

That’s a fact.

To expand a bit, the existence of same-sex attraction disorder does not require us to believe that God makes mistakes—not so long as Satan roams the Earth like a hungry lion, seeking whom he may devour.

God doesn’t make mistakes, but Satan performs evil actions, and that accounts for sodomy.

“I just want my kids LEFT ALONE by these animals.”

Evil always attacks good. That is its nature.

Access equals molestation. We must guard the young, which is infinitely more difficult in today’s America, where “discrimination” is worse than murder.

sexuality is a choice... we are not animals. we choose to be sexual. we choose our partners. heterosexuality is a choice. we may be attracted to certain types, that fit our specific choices.

acting on those choices makes us happy or gay.

Same-sex attraction disorder is not a choice; it is induced by a trauma. Overcoming it often requires treatment.

are you saying then that the trauma causes a subconscious choice?

it is still a choice. nature intends male female connections at birth for procreation of the species. attraction to others is a matter of choice. acting on those attractions is a matter of choice.

i haven’t seen anything else to change my mind... we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

“are you saying then that the trauma causes a subconscious choice?”

No, not at all, no more than people unconsciously choose to have PTSD. That’s the whole thing about disorders caused by trauma—the trauma knocks you off kilter with great emotional violence, and you have no choice in that.

The only choice involved is the choice to seek treatment...or, since the victim is surrounded by so many lying voices glorifying his suffering, the choice not to seek treatment.

“attraction to others is a matter of choice.”

How could that be so? Could you make that choice? Can you conceive of any circumstances under which you would lose the ability to appreciate the female form and turn to, as the comedian said, another man’s hairy butt? Because I find that utterly incomprehensible.

“acting on those attractions is a matter of choice.”

For men who suffer from same-sex attraction disorder, it is a compulsion. It seems to be such a strong compulsion that it inevitably erupts into action, even if only during an annual visit to the boy brothels of Thailand.

“i haven’t seen anything else to change my mind.”

If you ever have the chance, discuss it with a man who suffers from SSAD. He will at first deny it, but if you pursue the matter, and if he hangs around instead of fleeing, you will sooner or later uncover a seduction or molestation in the pre-adult years.

He will probably have rationalized the trauma such that he believes he was already homosexual when it happened, and the perpetrator merely helped him “explore his sexuality.”

If you get to the point that he is asking if he had never allowed the predator to nail him in the keister—or never been raped by the predator, whichever—that he would never have become homosexual, you will see in his face what the Greeks were trying to copy in their masks of Tragedy.

Many different kinds of trauma can induce PTSD. It is the trauma of a molestation or seduction in the pre-adult years that induces SSAD.

Sigh. It’s hard to watch a guy who’s sharp on so many subjects, go wishy-washy on one he clearly doesn’t grasp or understand.

As a man who has been working with doctors for well over 20 years now, I recognized your arrogance. “I’m a doctor, and therefore, what I say goes.” And it humors me to hear you talk about a sheltered life, in that MOST doctors that I know have never had a real-life job in their lives. They go from being a doctor’s spoiled son or daughter to becoming a spoiled adult. It’s why most of them can’t communicate with their patients and/or their fellow workers properly.

As to the subject matter at hand, I guess you’re arguing that God is not perfect and that every problem that you run into is caused by Him. I don’t agree with you, but then, since most of the people in your profession already think that they’re gods, as clearly you do as well, whom am I to argue?
