C-Span 3 just switched to the hearings. Issa describing what the hearing is about - the right of the committee to subpoena members of the Administration and the role of congress in holding the Admin. in contempt.

I have been watchingthis hearing for an hour and the gist of it is this is a necessary step before contempt. It seems AG Holder has said I don’t know and squirmed with many subjects. We are talking legal steps here leading to contempt. I think Holder and some others will be thrown under the bus this time.

I don’t know/ I do know some have posted on here that Dubya Bush started this program therefore trying to blame him. His admin and DOJ may have started a program but they are not on trial for any wrong doing. It seems Obama and Holder are.

This hearing today is to explore exactly how far this committee can go to demand information from the DOJ/ATF and if the information is not given up by the DOJ/ATF if they can hold specific people in contempt. Issa is using the knowledge of those testifying about past case law and history to help make the committee's decision.

The committee will continue with actual witnesses who know about or were involved in the Fast and Furious operation.

It is not over yet!

I haven’t read anything, other than posts here saying the program was started under PB. I’ve not looked into it real well, but it just doesn’t strick me as something he would do.....at least not the way Holder and Obama have. Thanks for your input. I am really clueless about this latest scandal. It sounds pretty serious from what I have read.
