BERLIN (AP) -- A German court decided Friday to release a former Red Army Faction terrorist that was involved in a murder of a U.S. soldier in 1985 and a deadly bombing at a U.S. military base.
Birgit Hogefeld's parole request was granted after serving 18 years in prison because of her "positive development," Frankfurt state court said, noting she finished a college degree through distance learning and started to work on a Ph.D.

She will soon be a professor at a university in Chicago ...
A celebrity professor in the making!
...and an adviser to, and ghostwriter for, our esteemed President.
Sounds familiar... Dohrn, Ayers, etc.
She’s responsible for the deaths of three Americans, not just the one she lured away. That was to get his military identification to get the enormous bomb onto the American base, which then killed two more people, one of whom was 19 years old, and one of whom was a female civilian employee.
For all that, an image search just comes up with her ugly face, not those of Airman 1st Class Frank H. Scarton, 19, of Woodhaven, Michigan, Becky Joe Bristol, and Army Spc. Pimental, of here in New York.
She killed 3 people and wounded 20 others. She should have received a death sentence. As for her “college degree,” it is probably in some junk field. Besides, what else was she going to do for all those years in jail living at taxpayer expense? And who paid for her education?
I would guess German tax payers, since she was in a German jail.
“She killed 3 people and wounded 20 others”. Only 3 killed. A piker . The Germans used to kill them by the Millions.
Her accomplice in luring Specialist Pimental to his death, Eva Haule, who was also involved in the bombing as well as a separate assassination, was released 4 years ago.
Haule has since expressed pride in her actions and continues to speak against the US and the West.
Even worse, and I’m not surprised. It shouldn’t be so easy for Germany, or America, to ignore whatever Marxist studies she focused on, with public funds, while in prison as some kind of rehabilitation by higher education.
bttt
Apparently translated from the German. Should be ‘who killed...’ not ‘that killed...’. If the brave man was killed by falling masonry, ‘that’ would have killed him. But given a human was involved it was a question of ‘who’. Or perhaps AP has forgotten standard English?

Touching to hear that she’s turned her life around. What a pity the people she murdered didn’t have that opportunity.
I wonder what productive major she got her degree in; political science, ethnic studies, urban environmentalism...
Thanks for pointing that out. I don’t correct other member’s grammar but pointing it out in the article is another thing. People who get paid to write should know how.
My own grammar is far from perfect but I don’t write for a living either;
Inanimate objects are “that”, people are “who”.
Grammar Police Alert!
The pronoun for people is WHO, not THAT. There's enough dehumanization in the world already. Headline writers ought to educate themselves and use proper grammar.
Deserves a righteous killing.
