Rep. Allyson Schwartz of Pennsylvania is one of the fastest rising stars in the Democrat Party, taking on a recently announced leadership role at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Schwartz, a four-term suburban Philadelphia congresswoman, is taking on the position left vacant by Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz who was just tapped to chair the Democratic National Committee.
One fact that has gone unmentioned in all the media reports trumpeting Schwartz’s ascendancy is that Allyson Schwartz, besides having a perfect pro-abortion record in Congress, co-founded and acted as Executive Director of an abortion clinic in Philadelphia for 13 years (1975-1988).
The clinic was called the Elizabeth Blackwell Center which is ironic because Blackwell, the first female physician in the U.S., was pro-life.
The clinic was not without its troubles. The Philadelphia Daily News quoted a call from a Republican candidate that detailed an assortment of lawsuits against the clinic:
“18 lawsuits have been filed against Miss Allyson Schwartz’s clinic, including assault, battery, negligence, perforated bowels and uteruses,” the woman said, “and even abortions performed without consent of her patients."
In 2002, the Blackwell clinic declared bankruptcy due to diminished demand for abortion and stiff competition in the area. In its last year, the center still performed about 1,500 abortions. According to the Daily News, the center derived its largest share of revenue from abortions.
Since Schwartz left the abortion business, she hasn’t forgotten her past. NARAL has consistently rated Schwartz a perfect 100 score. EMILY’s List, the radically pro-abortion PAC, has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Schwartz, giving her campaign far more than any other organization. According to one site, EMILY’s List donated almost $500,000 to Schwartz.
In return, Schwartz voted against the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, and the Stupak Amendment. Schwartz even sponsored the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) which would have erased all federal, state, or local limitations on abortion up to an including the ninth month of pregnancy.
Schwartz was already heading up candidate recruitment and will now oversee candidate services throughout the country.
Note: I worked for two congressional campaigns against Schwartz. See Also Patrick’s reaction at the NCRegister.com “Democrat Leader Operated Abortion Clinic”

That is just creepy and gruesome. Even if I were a pro-abort DemocRAT, I wouldn’t want someone like Schwartz being a party spokeswoman. Just thinking about it makes me want to take a hot shower.
This could make for some very hard-hitting campaign ads.
Bet she'd do an abortion on national TV at the Presidential nominating convention.
These people imagine that any of us think of them as human beings.

This news has to get out there.
And this person, who is comfortable with puncturing the skulls and evacuating the brains of children, probably is about to lecture us on the subject of “compassion.”
I had no idea she once ran an abortion clinic.
I don’t know what kind of district she will end up with. We’ve tended to run pro-choicers against her though.

Why stop there? /s

A serious question: where do the Democrats find these class acts and why do they keep on electing them?
The PA-13 currently includes (i) Dem areas in NE Philly, (ii) marginal or Republican areas in NE Philly, (iii) Dem areas in Montco, and (iv) marginal or Republican areas in Montco, for a district that will not give a GOP presidential candidate more thna 42% and will see GOP House candidates fall short no matter how good a fit they are for the district and how bad a fit the Democrat is.
When the GOP drew it for 2002, it dreamed of pro-life Dem Bob Borski being nominated on the strength of the Philly votes and having a Montco RINO beat him in the general; of course, Borski retired, suburban Dem Congressman Joe Hoeffel won the nomination, and the Montco RINO (Melissa Brown) fel la bit short in 2002 and way short in 2004. The GOP got greedy by trying to draw a “winnable” PA-13, and it made other SE PA GOP districts vulnerable: had they drawn a more heavily Dem PA-13 that excised GOP and marginal precincts but took in heavily Dem areas in Bucks County and white areas in PA-01, it would have helped shore up the PA-08, PA-15, PA-06 and PA-07, two of which went Democrat in 2006 and the other two where we were extremely lucky to hold.
The GOP should draw three über-Democrat CDs in SE Philly and make the surrounding districts GOP-leaning. If this results in the execrable Schwartz getting reelected, then so be it. But if the GOP gets creative and draws two black-majority CDs in Philly and shifts white precincts in PA-01 and PA-02 to the new PA-13, maybe Bob Brady will run there and take out Schwartz.
To clarify my prior post, the Montco precincts in the PA-13 tend to be pro-abortion, while the Philly precincts (especially the marginal or GOP-leaning ones) tend to be pro-life. The marginal or GOP-leaning Philly precincts could be added to the PA-08 (in exchange for heavily Dem Lower Bucks) and bolster pro-life Republican Mike Fitzpatrick’s hold on the district.
That sounds like a good idea. I hope you have friends in Pennsylvania.
There hasn’t been nor will there be any hard-hitting ads or campaigns until the GOP finds their spine, guts, and can put our country before their careers. IMO, so far they look like a gaggle of eunuchs with the Speaker acting like a child.
Everyone who has agreed to the "pro choice" democrat fascist policy of child sacrifice has human blood dripping from their hands. There's no partial agreement to murder, there's either the acceptance of it or the rejection of it.
Allyson Schwartz, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Barbara Boxer. It’s interesting that so many of the most vile and wickedly pro-abortion women in Congress are all Jewish.
Look at me! NOT being surprised!
Thanks for your insight and input on the Philly suburbs.
You don’t imagine that any of those you mentioned actually practice Judaism or believe in Torah and Talmud, do you? So what if they had Jewish ancestors??? There have been a handful of black pro-lifers in Congress, bucking the trend. The vast majority of blacks in Congress are pro-aborts. It is not a racial trait. The better questions are: What percentage of Demonrat Congresscritters are pro-abort and what percentage of Republican Congresscritters are pro-abort?
