China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Idaho
THE AMERICAN DREAM ^ | June 08, 2011 | swampsniper

Posted on 06/08/2011 8:41:14 AM PDT by SWAMPSNIPER

Thanks to the trillions of dollars that the Chinese have made flooding our shores with cheap products, China is now in a position of tremendous economic power. So what is China going to do with all of that money? One thing that they have decided to do is to buy up pieces of the United States and set up "special economic zones" inside our country from which they can continue to extend their economic domination. One of these "special economic zones" would be just south of Boise, Idaho and the Idaho government is eager to give it to them. China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach for short) plans to construct a "technology zone" south of Boise Airport which would ultimately be up to 50 square miles in size. The Chinese Communist Party is the majority owner of Sinomach, so the 10,000 to 30,000 acre "self-sustaining city" that is being planned would essentially belong to the Chinese government. The planned "self-sustaining city" in Idaho would include manufacturing facilities, warehouses, retail centers and large numbers of homes for Chinese workers. Basically it would be a slice of communist China dropped right into the middle of the United States.

Agreed, but my idea would be to call their bluff (I doubt they’d want to hire an all-US staff).

what is the issue?
Many dozens of other Nations have factories and businesses in America. Many not considered “allies” to the US.
As long as no diplomatic status is given it would be like any other factory/business

A 50 square mile special economic zone, owned and operated by the Chinese Communist Party is not at all comparable to a plant like the one owned and operated by Nissan in Smyrna, Tennessee that is only 1.2 square miles.

Then it is not a seaport.

No earthly power could have destroyed the United States. It could only have been destroyed by its own internal moral rot and decay.

Many thinkers said that the democracy is unstable and not viable in the long term. They pointed at earlier examples of democracies, from ancient Greece to France (1790) to Russia (1917) and now to the USA. For example:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy. (exact source unknown; likely Alexis de Tocqueville.)

Were they right?

Idaho would be a good place to build sovereign communist territory if you wanted to be able knock out expeditionary capabilities at Mountain Home AFB at and hit the ICBMs at FE Warren.

From Idaho you can hit bases in CA,OR, NV, MT, UT, SD and ND.

Traitorous and dangerous idea to allow this.

In the long run, most Americans will welcome Chinese investments.

Only the traitors.

Don’t forget the Chinese submarines can launch missiles right off of Long Beach too, so they could quickly wipe out all Western military facilities.

Yes. They were right.

Today politicians offer more and more to constituents and potential constituents. This is how they get elected, stay in office, and become rich. This is why they continue to escalate national debt, knowing full well that it will destroy the economy and the nation. This is why they want to import millions of aliens because they will be millions of constituents.

Perhaps this is not the inevitable fate of democracies, but it is certainly the usual fate.

The American people could still save the United States, but it will take a revolution.

These socio/political issues will be key in our next presidential election. Republicans, Conservatives, and neocons will be deciding on a candidate who will actually fight against such trade policies, and defend out sovereignty.

RINO’s may become extinct in this next outcome. One can only hope.

Last time I looked at Idaho on a map, it was landlocked.

Actually, Idaho has a sea port ... Lewiston, Idaho

That notwithstanding, China moving into the US in this fashion is not a good idea.

“Its time to stop, and reverse, the erosion of our sovereignty.”

Too late. China is the U.S. banker and must not be offended.

The Chinese are desperate to do something, anything with the soon to be worthless dollars they hold. I am not at all surprised they are buying just about any hard asset they can with dollars. I would however be surprised if we (our government) allowed them to build a Chicom city in the heart land of the USA. I certainly hope the US citizenry wakes up soon and tosses the ho’s out of DC and it appears Iowa needs a scrubing too.

It's a bit of a stretch to call the Port of Lewiston a seaport. It is located 465 miles up a fresh water river system and there's 8 dams to traverse. Probably not too many sea going ships go to that seaport.

The idiot Americans involved with this are either not “looking under the hood”, or in a very unAmerican and very crony capitalist manner, just plain do not give a damn.
