Boca Raton, FL The Allen West for Congress campaign today launched its petition drive and new campaign website for the reelection of Congressman Allen West to the United States House of Representatives in November 2012.
According to the Florida Department of State Division of Elections, because of planned redistricting, petition signatures may be obtained from any registered voter in the state of Florida, regardless of party affiliation or district boundaries.
In his first six months in office, Congressman West has made significant progress in fulfilling the promises he made during the campaign in 2010 to restore fiscal responsibility on Capitol Hill and remove the barriers to job growth.
The voters in the 22nd Congressional District have given me the highest honor to represent them on Capitol Hill. Each and every day I take their concerns to the United States Congress as their representative dealing with the major issues our republic faces, West stated. The House of Representatives is the voice of the people of our great nation, but we are only just beginning to make progress. After all, it takes five miles to turn an aircraft carrier. We are beginning our petition drive for reelection today because, while we have accomplished a great deal in these last six months in office, its going to take time to reset the course of this great ship called the United States of America.

HE is our new Secretary of defense in the Palin administration!!!
Let me get this straight. In Florida an incumbent needs to petition in order to appear on the ballot?
Petition signatures to appear on the ballot or pay a fee.( small for local candidates and $ thousands for statewide or national)
Number of signatures depends on the size of the district and is for all offices, including local.
Pain in the neck to collect and verify for the candidates, but a good way to get support and meet people. I have felt that sometimes after signing one of the cards people feel that a vote for the candidate is expected too...
It also makes a great mailing list and solicitation tool.
Lists are used to offer absentee ballots and to follow up on them.
Hope this helps.
FYI
Had you read about this change...will you be involved?
I don’t want him to run for congress...He should be going after the Presidency. Allen West rocks.
Florida Freeper Ping in support of Congressman Allen West!
I sent an e-mail to a very liberal friend of mine this morning, saying I'm looking for just that bumper sticker. I haven't heard back from her yet.
Whoa! I had to do a double take. I read the story header and the first thought that came into my mind was a Campaign Website for Allen for President. Whoa! I’m sorry, I’ve landed safely back on earth now. LOL.
Palin? West? Cain? Bachman?
You betcha!
Me too! I was totally punked on that headline. I was overjoyed that he might be running for President. Sigh.
To ALL Florida Freepers who like Congressman West and/or are a supporter, PLEASE follow through and sign a petition form. Sorry it can not be filled out completely on line. You can fill out the form on line, and then you MUST print it out and mail it to the address provided. I would hope that extra work will not keep folks from helping a fine Conservative like Allen West get on our Florida ballot!
Guess we will find out in the coming weeks if it does. I for one will be helping Congressman West by getting folks here in Pinellas to sign a petition form! Sent the link out to all on my email list too!
The fact that voters can be from ANY district in Florida will make ballot access easier for our Florida candidates to get on the ballot. This means we will all be able to help other fine Conservatives like Allen get on the ballot in other Florida districts!
Be watching for ballot access petition forms for candidates to enter the Republican Primary to run for a face off with Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Ted Deutch, Alcee Hastings, Betty Castor, Corrine Brown and Fredricka Wilson! We are on our way to make Florida solid Conservative/Republican!
Right now, let's get those petition forms rolling in for our favorite Congressman, Allen West!

In Florida, a candidate running for US Representative must get 2,298 valid ballot access signatures from Florida registered voters.
The Fees:
Fees
If you are a regular party candidate, you must pay a filing fee of $10,440, which is six percent of the annual salary for the office that you seek. You must also pay $.10 per signature to the state supervisor, to cover the costs associated with the verification of the signatures you collected.
Just think, Speaker Boehner who is otherwise known as Weaker of the House, would be a congress member sitting in the back and have time to make sure he has plenty of hankies handy.
LOL!!
We have so many ideas for him...
Representative
Governor
Senator
VP
President
I wonder if we could clone him? LOL
System to actively collect petitions for him? Forms?
One must type in their information, and print the form and mail it to the address given at the bottom of the form. Hubby and I cut the form to fit it into an envelope (card size) and mailed.
I also went to this link at the Florida Elections Sup. Office to print out 20 forms.
http://election.myflorida.com/forms/pdf/DSDE104.pdf
I typed in the info as shown on Allen's form. I will be working here in pinellas to get them signed and mailed by the end of this week. My goal is to try to get signatures from a least 20 voters per week.
Although the number needed is 2,298 signatures, all candidates need to turn in many more to cover for those that happen to be invalid or lacking the information required.
