I dont think theater wins elections.Hear that, Obama? Theatrics won't work, no Greek amphitheater with marble columns, no faux triumphal marches across Europe...

I dont think theater wins elections. He musta slept through 2008 then. He is the most deliberately inneffective rino on G-ds green earth in PA.
Maybe he meant it this way.....
"I don't think. Theater wins elections."

Well, those "usual suspects" in January and February will be the ones enlisting the walkers, the mail-stuffers, the phone bank workers, the ad campaigns, and so on. Everyone here revels in how she tweaks the media, as do I. But tweaking the media doesn't produce turnout on election day. It WILL produce a crowd where she it, but what about the other 99.9 percent of the state not in sight?
That requires something called a party organization. I have never, ever, seen any candidate come close to winning without such an organization. And it's not just money: money helps BUY it, but does not organize it. So I would have very much liked to have seen her actually developing a solid GOP/grass roots organization on this tour.

She did not give out a schedule, but just showed up and was spontaneously greeted by friendly people. If she had given out a schedule, Obama would have had advanced noticed where to send in his thugs to protest her.

I wouldn't give this article any validity. This is simply the daily Politico hit piece, today throwing a temper tantrum that Gov. Palin is doing things their way.
To: Hawk720
But she needs to show that she can go beyond that, and this tour doesnt accomplish that, said King, who is urging Rudy Giuliani to enter the 2012 race. If King does not understand how breathtakingly provincial a candidate Giuliani is, his opinion is all but worthless.
To: Hawk720
Yeah, bummer. No one cares except for Politico.

Is it your position that the repub party establishmentdoesn’t have a bunch of rinos that need to be purged?
Is it your position that the repub party establishment which delights in such candidates as Romney, Guiliani, Dole, etc and fights against the DeMints, Rubios and other real conservatives doesn’t have a rino problem? The “usual suspects” are the party leaders who insist on running rinos. Not the foot soldiers who do the work.

I do not think she will run for President. She can be a kingmaker, which is better in some ways.

Purged? Sounds Stalinist to me. I work in the Montgomery Co. GOP and we have all types here. We are trying to put more conservatives in leadership throughout, and I think we've been wildly successful (Jim Jordan, who may run against Brown; Josh Mandel; Kasich---who is a vast improvement over most of the other Republicans who had sought the governorship). Our county chairman is very conservative. Most (not all) of our leadership is.
No, I don't want them "purged." I want them to turn out and vote on election day, preferably for the conservative. Guiliani can't do a thing to DeMint and neither can Romney or Dole. It's interesting you cite two has-beens and a wanna-be vs. two conservatives who actually won. So who really has the power?
If by the "usual suspects" you mean the hundreds of state and thousands of local chairmen/precinct workers who will do all the dirty work in a campaign that everyone here (and, so far, apparently Palin) feels are unimportant, then that's a prescription for disaster. My chairman worked just as hard for Ken Blackwell (a conservative) as he did for one of our local RINO legislators. I think it is a (so far) fatal flaw of the Palin "strategy" that she thinks she can ignore the mainstream organization. It is absolutely true that the Tea Party has the fire and the enthusiasm, and when in 2010 that was properly married to good organization, it won. When it wasn't, it lost.

As a moderate/Mitt-supporting type of Democrat, you would support her sitting on the sidelines—but you wouldn’t want to see anyone she’d make king on the throne.
To: LS
As soon as you threw the Stalinist name out I quit reading your comment.
Good bye.
