I know Im going to garner a lot of bitter reactions, but I just have to question this devotion to Sarah Palin as our candidate for 2012. Am I the only one that thinks conservatives are falling into the whole cult of personality with regard to Sarah Palin much the same way the Left did with Obama? Im not comfortable with her just bailing on Alaska, shes the one that allowed Levi Johnston to knock up her daughter, and I dont want a reality TV. candidate - I want a serious conservative thinker with the stomach for policy. Id much rather have Michele Bachmann or Herman Cain. Anyhow, thats just my opinion. Let the hate begin..
She's got exceptional political instincts in that regard, and she generates considerable excitiment. Those arent trivial qualities.
However, her reluctance to engage the opposition on their turf is a drawback.. In any event, I agree thats not the end all.
well then...if it comes down to Obama vs. Palin....will you be voting for Obama with his vast expierience???
Outstanding, Phil!
Frankly, more than I think we hear about. After all, do you think the LSM is going to go out of its way to give free publicity to a Jim DeMint or a Paul Ryan when they throw out some red meat to conservatives? Not likely. Indeed, even with Palin's bus tour, you don't hear much about what she's actually saying being reported on, just the fact that she's havin a bus tour. That's because the LSM blockades broadcast of our ideas.
I will give her credit for having the bus tour and running the information blockade - VERY smart idea, and one that she has the time and cash to pull off - which a lot of the conservatives in government don't have.
Well said!
Yet...you post the media talking points about the Palin family without regard to Mrs. Palin's serious policy positions.
Look, pinhead! I had a daughter that got pregnant OOW and I absolutely love my grandson (and his brother and their sister!)...
Get a life ya jack wagon!
I agree. And let me give you some evidence that there is a cult of personality forming around her: many folks refer to her as "Sarah", not "Palin" or "Governor Palin."
And I'm a huge admirer of Palin. Whether she runs or not, she's great for the conservative cause. But really no politician should be immune from constructive criticism. After all, no one is perfect.
I ducked for cover to avoid the shock wave I knew was coming.
Some folk just don't ever learn.
He had a chance to discuss candidates but that Bristol comment wasn't going to fly with a certain someone with the power of Thor.
You said it, not me. The world is full of Democrats saying “Hey if You Republicans get the exact guy you want, don’t vote”.
Yeah, but unfortunately, sometimes we conservatives need to be told things that we don't want to hear - and from what I've seen from many folks here on FR, that doesn't go over too well.
I don’t call her “Sarah” because I don’t know her well enough to be on a first name basis with her.
This piece of art never fails to rile up and expose a paulinista! Kudos ‘gunner.
Yep, that was way over the top. A bridge too far.
No, I see from this post who you support:
“I am holding out hope that Jim DeMint will change his mind and run and, barring that, am currently leaning towards Herman Cain or Tim Pawlenty while hoping that someone better steps forward. Sarah Palin is fairly far down my list, however.”
Only one of them has any executive experience in government at all. And have you happened to see how conservative his record is? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGPwEHqz5bU
Because I don't believe in people getting them for free from other people!
/I know what you meant, but I just had to...
But here's my point: that's not a healthy habit to get into.
You can get permission from the parents to sleep with their daughter? I’ll be damned; all those times climbing through the window and all I had to do was ask.
I wish she hadn’t bailed on Alaska but it was obvious that the media and the dems were not going to allow her to do her duty without harassing her, her family and anyone she knew.
The same thing will happen during the 2012 election but I think she has more people on her side and the fact that it is the mainland United States and not some far off place like Alaska means that people will get wise to the scummy tricks the media and dems and even TV shows play.
Is it me or does Law and Order (the show) obsess over Rumsfeld? One show was on waterboarding and they mentioned bringing in Rummy to testify and the other was about some vaccine. They mentioned Rummy’s name but there wasn’t any context, just guilt by libel.
Was the TV movie, “Too Big To Fail” written by Aaron Sorkin’s brother Andrew or are they unrelated but have the same last name?
