I agree that we (Republicans) don’t have a weak field.

There is no clear front runner, but I don’t think that’s because the field is weak. I think it’s because:

a) we have many strong contenders and
b) we are fussy.

I am more enthusiastic about some candidates/potential candidates than others, but every one of them is breathtakingly better than Obama, and could take it.

So in brief I think we have a strong field, not a perfect but a strong field, and that we are in very good shape for 2012.

We need to stick together. Principled debate is fine, Name-calling candidate bashing perjorative RINO slinging is not; just damages us.

viciously attacking Sarah Palin and her family, and hyping real or imaginary divisions between Republicans -- never among the Democrats, who present the image of a united front with Stalinesque unity.

The Dems are united. United in evil.

And it is all anti-America, anti-Christian, and anti-White.

Democrats

The KKK votes for the same guy as the Black gang-banger.

The Jew votes for the same guy as the Jihadi Muslim.

The homosexual votes for the same party that hangs homosexuals.

The feminists vote for the same party that thinks women are property, like a dog or a cow, and beats them regularly.

Oh yeah, one thing that can't be denied, the National Socialists are a united group. They unite for everything evil in the world. They are united for their own destruction.

We are seeing Paradise Lost on Earth.

I hope he’s 100% right, but I think he is way too overconfident.

That part about the world’s shale reserves taking the piss out of OPEC within a decade really made me feel warm and fuzzy. Hope it works out that way...or sooner.

Only one comment. Ford was not elected, he was in fact and quite literally, selected. I wonder if I still have my WIN! Button around (Whip Inflation Now) left over from the Ford administration.

“Harry Truman's Democrats were forced to purge the Stalinist left from the Democratic Party”

Hmmm. Not sure they got all of them. What we have is half of our country on the government dole. Sycophants....leaches. Harsh I know but seriously...it is gonna be hard to change the political landscape with so many people depending on government. It no longer seems to have the negative connotation it once had to be on the take. What we need is a severly harsh conservative who has charisma and is able to bluntly tell people why depending on the government is bad. No more RINO’s. No more whishy washy conservatives like McCain. I'm not even sure he's a conservative anymore if he ever was.

ON TOPIC: I hope this joke of a president is destroying the democractic party. Nothing would make me happier. Unfortunately in this American Idol culture we need the media to sway the masses. We need like 10 more Fox new’s...lol

You know i’ve commented on my threads of yours and you know i am a big Palin fan. There is nobody i would prefer to see in the White House than she. As of now she is a weak candidate. She has been vilified, smeared, attacked and hounded to the point where the middle of the spectrum think of her as a joke. She has very little time to rehabilitate her image with the voters. The base hates Romney,Newt and Rudy are jokes,Pawlenty does not as of now come across as strong. Michelle is Palin light without all the baggage but read articles and the press is slowly painting her with the same brush as Palin.
Its a weak field.

I think the Whigs were actually a decent party. The Democrats certainly are not.

Sen. McCarthy called the Democratic Party the party of treason. That fits the party more today than when Sen. McCarthy called them out.

He's looking less human by the minute---more like a vote-crazed, wild-eyed robot mouthing sound bites.

ITEM Obama went to Missouri to (gag) "help the healing" a full week after the storm. But there's a good reason he took so long---he had to focus-group his healing speech---so every phrase would suckup to 2012 voters.

OBAMA SUCKSUP BIGTIME "It's in these moments, through our actions, that we often see the glimpse of what makes life worth living in the first place," Obama told Missouri voters. "In the face of winds that showed no mercy, no regard for human life ... it was ordinary people, swiftly tested, who said, 'I'm willing to die right now so that someone else might live.'"

Stay tuned.

From hereonin everything he says will sound like a focus group sound-bite......with pre-programmed voice inflections, and hand and head gestures.

The complaints about ‘the field’ come from the GOP Establishment, who haven’t been able to find someone they think can stop Palin.

Obama will either sink America or sink the Democrats. I’m praying he sinks the Dems, but our far left is praying he takes out America permanently and makes their dreams come true.

He [Obama] has constantly insulted and demoralized ordinary Americans.

I think we are all feeling very demoralized. I know I haven't felt this much contempt from own government since the time of Carter (a prissy progressive who thrived on negativity and regarded the rest of us as benighted and morally inferior to him). The good thing is that this gave us Reagan, at least in part because of his positive outlook. His theme of "it's morning in America" gave people some hope again.

In this case, Obama goes even beyond Carter, however, because Obama actively hates the majority of US citizens. And while whites are his primary target, he also hates hard-working blacks and Hispanics, too; that is, anybody who believes in the American Dream as opposed to the dreary, oppressive Socialist-Muslim collectivist nightmare. Like Carter, he feels he is morally superior to us and we are "bad."

So I think that any successful candidate has got to make the mass of Americans feel good again about ourselves and our prospects. We have to see prosperity as a good thing, and we have to see individual initiative and personal freedom not as threats (since in Bambi's view, only the government is competent to make life decisions for us) but as what we are all about.

The candidate who does this and has a positive vision of prosperity and the conditions required for it, namely economic and intellectual liberty, will be the one Americans will chose. And to do this, they must present their own vision, but must also be willing to go out and openly challenge and reject Obama's policies and attitudes. In other words, this has got to be a real throw-down, not a polite little exercise where the Dems get to say outrageous things about us and average Americans, and we do not oppose them but instead end up apologizing for breathing.

Some of Obama's more hateful remarks during his campaign (for example, the one about the "bitter clingers") should have immediately disqualified him from serious consideration. But the press just glided over them, and nobody ever really challenged him on anything he said, no matter how outrageous. This has got to change.

If you pay close attention, Obama and the media are trying to rally their base.

That is a clear sign that most of the rank-and-file Democrats are not energized for Obama’s second term.

Don’t forget, he squandered a fillibuster-proof majority in both houses because Obama is not a leader. Obamacare was created by Pelosi and Reid and rammed through using gimmicks and shenanigans and zero help from Obama.

Democrats knew that Obama blew an historic opportunity and would prefer another candidate.

Hardcore liberals would prefer another party.
