I agree that we (Republicans) don’t have a weak field.
There is no clear front runner, but I don’t think that’s because the field is weak. I think it’s because:
a) we have many strong contenders and
b) we are fussy.
I am more enthusiastic about some candidates/potential candidates than others, but every one of them is breathtakingly better than Obama, and could take it.
So in brief I think we have a strong field, not a perfect but a strong field, and that we are in very good shape for 2012.
We need to stick together. Principled debate is fine, Name-calling candidate bashing perjorative RINO slinging is not; just damages us.

I am a new convert to that line of thinking. Had I been really thinking I would have remembered the Reagan Rule.

I concur, but we know it isn't going to happen like you've stated. Far too many of us shoot first, then aim.
