I agree that we (Republicans) don’t have a weak field.

There is no clear front runner, but I don’t think that’s because the field is weak. I think it’s because:

a) we have many strong contenders and
b) we are fussy.

I am more enthusiastic about some candidates/potential candidates than others, but every one of them is breathtakingly better than Obama, and could take it.

So in brief I think we have a strong field, not a perfect but a strong field, and that we are in very good shape for 2012.

I am a new convert to that line of thinking. Had I been really thinking I would have remembered the Reagan Rule.

In Tennessee we have early voting in primaries. This year, of all things not to do, that is it. Enough of our candidates are basically qualified to make it essential to watch all the debates and wait until the last minute before deciding whom to vote for.

I concur, but we know it isn't going to happen like you've stated. Far too many of us shoot first, then aim.

If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.
