Schools remove filters on gay, lesbian websites

Published: May 27, 2011

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. - Prince William County Public Schools has removed filters that block access to certain websites with content relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues.

In April, the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia sent a letter to the school system asking officials to remove the software blocking the sites.

The ACLU learned of the blocking of LGBT sites through its “Don’t Filter Me” initiative, which shows students how to report that their school is filtering content.

At the time, ACLU spokesman Kent Willis said that it was clear that Prince William schools were blocking the LGBT sites while allowing anti-LGBT sites to be viewed.

The action violated the students’ First Amendment rights, Willis said.

School systems aren’t allowed to discriminate based on “viewpoint” and schools are legally bound to provide students with “viewpoint neutral” access to the Internet, Willis said.

In a Prince William Public Schools news release, Keith Imon, the associate superintendent for communications and technology services, said that the school system was able to remove the filters and still keep students safe from other content.

“Internet filtering is difficult, sometimes imprecise, and constantly evolving. It is nearly impossible to find the perfect balance between the protection of students, freedom of speech, and equal access,” Imon said in the release. “However, the decision to discontinue the use of the LGBT filter is within this balance.”

It’s hard for the kids to get instructions on fisting and tea bagging, and to find dates and hook-up places, if the gay web sites are blocked

Thanks to the school administrator’s PC lack of moral leadership, tasty little pedo snacks are now being served to the pedophile community

Okay, so what’s the point, do people have to know every little detail of what people do in their private lives? I don’t think it is really all that neccessary.

Condition children into thinking the abnormal is normal. You destroy the Bible and idea of God as you encourage destructive, nihilistic ideas that create dysfunctional people who put emotions above intellect.

Surest way to destroy the intellect of children and redirect it into narcissistic destruction. Sexual impulses are powerful and when you are controlled by passion, you are a slave to it. Intellect needs to control the passions to create a rational civil society. Homosexuals want to indoctrinate and seduce children into their lifestyle because they believe in pederasty even if they deny it. It is the foundation of homosexuality since it is learned behavior and sexual identity has to be twisted while a child is forming their sexual identity. This is understood even by Freud who knew that it is necessary in societies to repress sexual instinct. Marcuse wants to UNLEASH all restraints and have man/boy sex....because that is what happens when you have no sexual morals which is what you get with homosexuality.

Destroy the morality and virtue of a culture and you destroy it completely. Founders knew this and of course, Herbert Marcuse and those who control and write textbooks. They are all cultural Marxists.

Seems to me that when liberals in office, they set us back 10 years or more in our morals. Conservatives take over but can’t undo more that a couple years of perversion before the next batch of liberals take over.

We’re truly doomed on that trajectory.

It's long past time for schools to block the "Don't Filter Me" initiative.

What I find problematic is the false idea that this is a freedom issue. Children do not have the right to surf what they will. School is a controlled environment or should be. Most work sites block the gay & lesbian category because it is a more often than not a sexually explicit category. I wonder though if conservative anti-gay activist sites are available for students to surf? Can they visit the following sites?

National Organization for Marriage:
http://www.nationformarriage.org/site/c.omL2KeN0LzH/b.3836955/k.BEC6/Home.htm

The National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality
www.narth.com

Pfox
http://pfox.org/default.html

Exodus International
http://exodusinternational.org/

Americans for Truth
http://americansfortruth.com/

I also wonder how many gun association sites are blocked.

I’ve found that for the left freedom is a one way street. We need to turn their aggressive style back on them to make certain that even when they get their way that the counter message is just as well available. We may not always win but we can sure as hell even the playing field using their same tactics.

ANYONE who thinks that they can protect their kids after sending them off on that nice yellow bus is NUTS.

I don’t care how ‘involved’ you are as a parent, they HAVE your kids and by God they are going to do as they please to them. My immigrant wife lost 3 nephews to gayness in a large school system in a liberal area. They parent (her siblings) simply, and understandably, had no clue what was going on - but even so, this is absolutely horrible. Back home, those guys would be happily married with kids now.

You will never win trying to fight these people on their turf (i.e., the ‘schools’), you must either defeat them in your state capitol, or simply GET YOUR KIDS OUT of their domain, as some of us have done.

I bet the anti-sites did not have any porn, almost all of the LGBT sites are about nothing but promoting sex.

It’s Virginia, so why are you surprised? Norfolk has it’s own personal FREEMASON community, with churches/restaurants etc (NWO); Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach have already done away with Counties, and took away the public records of births, deaths, etc....if you can’t find where they were born, and died, then they don’t exist. Only the person can get their own birth certificate, and must show ID now. Other states are starting to follow suite, it’s like Hawaii and Zero’s BC.

Not just that, but musing over all the people who supposedly “hate” or “are out to get them”. That was in the early 2000s when I saw any of this, and was a fledgling in internet literacy, and chances are the material has gotten a whole lot worse since then, in terms of what is presented on the site.

I think the big trick is more on the line of giving your own spin to the kids vs. what is taught to them. It is difficult, but not impossible.

My opinion on most of this is that the most important thing to teach to the kids in their early years is the basics of speaking, reading, writing, and simple math.

A few days ago I was curious as to when and by how much the various states passed their ‘gay marriage’ bans. I was kind of surprised to see it only passed in Va. by 57% in 2006. I wonder what the outcome would be today. The only other southern state where it was so close was Florida in 2008 with 62%. I guess it must be northern Va.
