To avoid being shot, simply do not break into someones house.

Newsflash, mom...people knock on DOORS. If nobody answers, they LEAVE. They do NOT go around and try to pry open windows with a crowbar.
Oh, and if someone tries coming into my house that way, they'll get shot too. If he's trying that crap to get at my daughter, I'll shoot his ass TWICE.
Just admit you were a crappy parent and move on. One less career criminal on the street.

I HATE when an article paints a teen like a toddler. Okay, he was a teen BREAKING into someone’s house. Do people assume that a teenager can’t rape someone or slit someone’s throat? Want to act like a big boy and do things like the boy boy criminals do? Fine. Then you will be treated just like a big boy. (sorry for the vent, FReepers)

They said he got a ticket and go to court messin up, havin fights at school. Thats the normal thing childs do. But other than that he was a good person, she said. Perhaps before shooting the poor fellow the homeowner should have gotten his name and done a Google search on him ... just to see if he was really a potential burglar/rapist/arsonist/killer and not just some good-but-misguided youth.

“I think it was the girl. To visit somebody, I think,” she said. “Some people like my sister, if I don’t answer the door my sister and them go and knock on my window.” Some people talk because they have something to say. Other people say something because they have to talk.

And this is why the kid is now room temperature.
Nice ‘support’ there mom..
“Normal” kids don’t go around fighting at school. Especially to the point that they have to be put in an ‘alternative school’ because they can’t control themselves.

Jacqueline Morris doesnt believe her son had to die. She's right. She could have raised her son to do better than burgling houses. No-one forced him to take up a life of crime.
She wants justice for him.
Hurrah! She already has it ...

There is a profound tragedy here. The homeowner has a fearful burden to carry through his life, really through no fault of his own.
I even believe the mother: mothers have a bias toward thinking their children are all right, and it is natural for children to be able to elicit affection from their parents. But it is just as certain that this was a bad kid. What happened to him would probably have happened later in his life, and maybe under worse circumstances, and with more harm to others.
Where was the anonymous father? The proportion of children from single-parent families is rising still. It first was a phenomenon of the black community, and now it has spread to the population generally: the fruits of moral breakdown and feminism. And what do the feminists say about this? They demonize men, and demand that they pay more “child support.” But that is not fathering in the full sense. The more payments for single parents, the greater the subsidy for this behavior, and the poorer and more crime-ridden we become.
I am sorry for all involved. I am even sorry for that kid, who wasted his natural talents and his life, and hurt everyone around him (even his indulgent mommy).
