Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin (R), who has been largely out of the public eye through much of the spring, will reemerge Sunday as she begins a national bus tour that will put her back in the spotlight and no doubt renew speculation about a possible presidential bid.
The tour, the first of what will be a series of such journeys over a period of weeks, will start on Sunday in Washington at the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally and work its way north along the East Coast. She will visit other parts of the country later, stopping at symbolically important sites in the nations history.

That's the critical idea here. She's got to be able to recast herself with the mushy middle and breakout with the entire Republican base united behind her.
If she's allowed to be tarred again she'll be irreparably damaged and won't run. She cannot afford missteps or to seem 'radical', clumsy or unprepared. Going after Obama will take a solid and professional run all the way.
Romney has her beat in money and organization. She's playing a perfect stalking horse game here. She'll get tons of free publicity and can put together an organization that is loyal and enthusiastic and do so on the cheap. If she doesn't knock out Romney she'll struggle to take the nomination.
Who she picks as a VP will be interesting and critical as well. She's got a ton of interesting choices in the current field all of whom carry pluses and minuses. It'll be an interesting summer and she can postpone an announcement until the end of August - that's an effective tactic financially as well.
How odd that you would take such joy from not being "for" someone so demonstrably worthy of your support. Sounds almost liberal to me. As well as P. J. O'Roarke, who had this to say about the Liberal:
"His is an infantile world view. At the core of a liberal is the spoiled child -- miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding..."
Perhaps, as one who derives great (if petty and petulant) personal pleasure from not supporting the justified crowd favorite.
Interesting... even telling.

her superior political instincts will guide her correctly.I think she really wants to win and I think McCain didn’t want to win. When he said “Mr Obama is a decent man” we knew then that he did not want to win.
LOL Well done!
Are you nuts? Sarah's "organizational" force is 5-10-million avid supporters (money, voter drives, the whole shebang) from coast to coast and from the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes.
Just waiting for her to say the word. When she announces, Myth's viabilty reduces to that of a political asterisk, a presidential historical footnote like Ron Paul ("Romney also ran again for the thirty-fourth time, with similar results to his last 33 runs).
Palin's supporters are so inured to the Misledia Presstitutes' "gotcha!" drivel that it has become "The Media that cried "Woof!" Only the most dyed-in-the-wool PDS victims even hear their predicatble spew any more.
Palin is now snakebite-proof. She's absorbed so much of their venom, when they bite her from now on, it is them who will be poisoned.
Watch, and be amazed.

OK, but what’s the opposite of PDS? ;-]
Very well stated. In late Sept 08, through her relentless campaigning, she had McRino in the lead. Anyone with an honest eye could see that it was Sarah that was the fighter, willing to take on the Marxist. Without Sarah 08 would have been an electoral bloodbath.
Having read her books and observed her for years, I knew the night of the Nov08 election that she likely thought to herself. "I will come back in 2012 and crush this anti-American bast**d.
You are quite right, Sarah has superior political instincts. She is truly a genius at political warfare.
Does anyone know Sarah’s exact east coast schedule? We may try to attend one of her events. Thanks!
Ronald Reagan didn’t really appeal to the wishy-washy folks (aka Independents) but he was THE thought leader and he won them and a lot of Dimocratz over to his way of thinking.
Sarah Palin has some rough edges, but mostly because she is very proud of her beliefs. She, like Reagan, is a thought leader and I think she can lead a resounding Conservative victory over our current panty waist president.
Go Sarahcuda!
Sarah has “rough edges”? I’m trying to think of one reason why I wouldn’t vote/support her... Nothing springs to mind. Oh wait, maybe it’s because I don’t care what the establishment/RINO/leftist media-types think.
“Col. Allen West as a running mate would be awesome.”
I agree. Please see my tag line.
Kind of like Palin in the beginning. Give Cain a chance.
Thank you for asking. Many mistake the fair hearing she is given, and the admiration that results from it, as being a misplaced idol worship by people who just don't "get it."
This is because those doubters do not truly understand how amazing it is that she accomplished what she did in a mere half a term as Governor, during which she also had a baby and spent 3 months campaigning for for VP. They also misunderstand what a selfless gesture of personal sacrifice for the good of her State was her decision to step down as Governor.
That kind of commitment is so rare these days, that it is much easier to assume she did it because she's just as big a dirtbag as are the people who assume that of her. She in fact is not. She is the rarest of rare, and the truth is that this country hardly deserves her. Then again, we can all pray that none of us get what we deserve, as none of us live up to the standards set by Him, Who will one day stand in judgement of us all.

You deserve to know that 82% of all Freepers selected Palin in the FreeRepublic presidential poll. We can't afford 4 more years of Affirmative Action "learning on the job."

Just a little interesting note about Sarah Palins One Nation Tour bus. Rather than buy or rent a bus for the tour, it seems she will be using the family truckster instead:
Check out the license plates.
Rather than use a new unit, Sarah wisely chose to inexpensively wrap the family RV with vinyl, just as they do in NASCAR and the NHRA. High impact, low dollars.
Folks, this is how Sarah Palin ran Alaska, and put billions of dollars away for a rainy day. Remember, she sold off the high dollar, and useless jet the previous governor bought, and also laid off the cook and much of the staff at the Governors Mansion. In fact, her office spent a cool million less than either of the previous two governors, in the same time period.
This is why we need Sarah Palin sitting in the Oval Office. The woman is thrifty.
Go get ‘em Palin. I see Bachmann is thinking of running, too. My support is going to Palin. Bachmann would just be getting to be known by the public as the onslaught continues and Palin can go nowhere but up and is ready to take them on and I am glad she is willing and will do this. She is the best to come around in a long time.
He..and she...are not going to run.
Cain is nowhere near what Palin has gone through. It is not good for pushing their candidacy when they are just about to get known by the public and through the media lens. Too late in the game to push people that the public is unfamiliar with and will go nowhere but down.
