I look at what she's doing now and say that she's found a way to get back in the story."
Maybe these representatives of rival campaigns are just spinning. But the fact is, some of the most serious people in the 2012 Republican race don't believe Palin will run. While the press looks at the former Alaska governor's publicity operation, political pros look at her campaign operation, or, more accurately, her lack of a campaign operation.
"Watch what she has done," says the Republican close to Romney. "Has she contacted one major donor across the country about putting together an organization? Has she talked to one member of the Republican National Committee about working for a campaign, or one governor, or one former governor about working for a campaign? The answer is no."
Campaigns are filled with routine work. For example, on Thursday, the Pawlenty team sent out a message headlined, "Governor Pawlenty Unveils Florida Finance Team." It's not newsy, but it's the kind of thing presidential campaigns have to do. Palin's not doing it. There are no Palin campaign organizations in early primary and caucus states, or anywhere else, for that matter.
Nevertheless, the political world is filled with speculation about Palin's intentions. Until recently, most Republican insiders believed she would not run.

What do Mittens and Timmy people know anyway? They didn’t know about the bus tour, the movie coming out, the 400,000 mailers sent to SC, the moving to AZ, the new hires in her staff...etc

You know what’s entertaining, Mr. or Ms. Advisor? A guy who was governor of Massachusetts, has had professional and personal roots in Massachusetts going back thirty years and more back to when he was in grad school at Harvard, has a place in suburban Boston from where he can pretty much barnstorm New Hampshire at will, and still apparently can’t get anywhere close to fifty percent in the polls up there, let alone dominate them. That’s entertainment.

You may be right, but I have a question for you (and others). If she does not run, but gives a strong endorsement, how much stock will you put in that endorsement?
(FTR, Palin is one of my faves but not quite number one at this moment, and I am not sure if I think she’ll run or not).
Thats a good way to put it. She is in charge of what she will or will not do. The MSM can pound sand.
IMO, donors are sitting on money while waiting to see if she is going to get in. I see this as more of an attempt to extract dollars from donors rather than a reasoned analysis of her intentions.
