A series of messages forwarded to The Daily Caller show a top aide to former Alaska Gov. and possible presidential candidate Sarah Palin mocking top political figures and even her bosss own daughter, Bristol Palin.
RedState.com founder and CNN contributor Erick Erickson is a total douchebag, wrote Palin speechwriter and domestic policy adviser Rebecca Mansour in a May 22, 2010, message. Greasy dumb ass with a talent for self-promotion. He threw himself in at the Govs SC rally. Self-promotion. (Erickson said South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley invited him to the rally).
Mitt Romney supporters are wacky as hell, Mansour wrote, but usually Romneys presence online is just an AstroTurf brigade.
Would love to tell Mitts lackeys to stop backstabbing my boss anonymously, Mansour wrote.
Then-California Senate candidate Chuck DeVore wants to be the next Hugh Hewitt (or Huckabee). He knows he cant win. He wants to become a personality. Give him a show to go away, Mansour wrote. Palin endorsed Carly Fiorina over DeVore in the GOP primary for the race, angering some conservatives.
Mansour sent these embarrassing and revealing missives as direct messages on Twitter to an online-only acquaintance approximately a year ago. The person who received the messages forwarded them to TheDC.

She’s dead on 100% right about Romney and his supporters. Everyone (except you apparently) has known that Erickson is a slimy self-promoter for quite some time now. DeVore acted like an entitled, spoiled child, when Palin didn’t endorse him. His reaction to it told me that she indeed made the right decision.
It may be inconvenient that this was released publicly, but I don’t see where she’s so off base. Even if you disagree, the woman is certainly entitled to her opinion.
Doesn't that strike even you as, perhaps, a bit harsh? Kind of makes "Minus_the_Brain" seem a bit tame, don't you think? LMAO!
On second thought, what fun would a general election "silly season" be absent at least a few razor-fanged verbal thrusts and parries, eh, old sport? How would we impress the day's jaded young ladies without a few jagged scars in unmentionable places, with the attendant goose-bump-popping war stories to embellish them?
From what I hear, your reputation for carpet-sniffing hunts and rug-burn and pheremone festooned conquests preceeds you, you randy old goat. Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong... I dare you!
To the fray, then... and damn the torpedoes!

Nobody "makes" anybody do anything. Ain't nobody messin' with you but you. Blaming Mansour, or the scumbag who made up this ridiculous jape, is just an excuse, a lame opportunity to blame another for what was in our own heart anyway.
And frankly, if we feel an urge to blame someone else for what we're feeling, it cannot be too honorable, now can it? For were it honorable, we'd be only too quick to assume responsibility for it. That's just Human Nature 101.
Those who like Palin will vote for her. Those who don't, won't.
There are no "undecideds" left. He who claims at this point to be undecided is either lying, or useless to the process. Either way, screw 'em. Like Sarah says, "Buck up, or stay in the truck."

Do you have any evidence that I have the dreaded PDS disease? Can you find my "hate" on any other Palin threads or are you just in default mode. You won't find any. How does calling out this dope with a 3rd grade political instinct a hit on Palin. My vile hate is directed at this staffer. The only way Palin ties into this is that she should fire her.
If you want to find some "hate the candidate" post from me, you will find Myth Romney stuff from me all over the place. I don't consider him even remotely a Conservative or even a Republican. He is a total phony. I also lay into Paulbots as well here because he is not a Conservative, but a doctrinaire Libertarian. All other candidates, announced and UNANNOUNCED, are fine with me and I would happily vote for them over Obummer.
My name is not Pissant and I am no member of the Falcon Party. If I do have a grip about Palin, it is the endorsement of McLame in '10. His reelection is one of the most dangerous things to happen to this country in a while. Just look at what he has done lately.
Breaking just now.
Ehh.. who cares.
It's not like anyone watches them anymore.
I just wish our side would STOP GOING ON LIB MEDIA SHOWS~!!!
Really.. just dont even talk to them anymore.
PING to #146.
The real story here is that Tucker Carlson actually paid this sleazebag for RAM’s private messages. The roof really needs to fall down on him over this.
LOL. Thank you. I was just informed that he just got banned at C4P for trying to raise *H*.
Loser deluxe.
Pretty small beer. Mansour has been an asset to the Palin brand; hope she doesn’t get booted for this.
To be fair, the Daily Caller has denied paying for them.
I didn't read it that way. Seemed like to me she was defending Bristol by pointing out how minor her foibles are compared with some other close relations of prominent politicians.
I've been waiting for this one to break for a few months, as somebody tried to sell me the same emails last fall.
(snip)
I'm not trying to imply the Caller paid for the emails. "Of course we don't pay for stories, and we didn't pay for this one," its chief, Tucker Carlson, emailed this morning.
(snip)
Indeed, my correspondence was months ago, and things change, and this obviously isn't playing out in the most coolly rational corner of the Internet. And though it's obviously infuriating to Palin's backers, we and most other outlets would also have printed them had we obtained them, as story does shed light on the inside of Palin's small circle.
You only have to wait until Oct 21st.
I fear you missed my point....
Not surprising though.
Daily Caller belongs to Tucker Carlson.
He's that little poofter wienie that sluffed off from MSNBC (where he wore the cutest little gay bowtie) and on over to Fox News.
He's now pretending to be conservative ala Rove etc but he is really a little Beckel inside.
He doesn't like Palin one bit, kinda like Carl Cameron although with Cameron he suppresses it more 'cause he is a big mucky muck at Fox and to his dismay his dissing of Palin in the beginning didn't take. He tried his best.
onyx, thanks for the Ace link!
I got your point — I was riffing on it :)
Palin (whom Mansour refers to as BigBoss) took a big risk in endorsing Nikki [Haley for South Carolina governor]. You dont pick a loser in SC. Very important state. Mitt has no hope of winning it, so he could endorse a 4th place underdog cuz his strategy for 12 is ignore the South. SC is crucial to someone like the Gov. She took a risk.
If you read it and really focus yourself for a second, you'll clearly see that she's saying that Romney took no risk in endorsing Haley, but Sarah took a huge one. And she's absolutely right.
Then tell us, solon, did Palin, or did she not, endorse candidates with as low, or lower, a chance of winning than C. DeVore? Palin certainly may support whomever she pleases, but don’t so whilst portraying oneself as a paragon of virtue.
