"He's a Morning Joe candidate." That could be the kiss of death among Republican primary voters, but Mark Halperin meant it as a compliment. Today's Morning Joe panel was unanimous in its praise for Huntsman's performance in New Hampshire over the weekend.
More from Mark Halperin:
"As impressive as any couple I've seen . . . I was pretty blown away by how effective he was . . . more [comfortable in his skin] than Barack Obama and George Bush, and they for me in my career have been the gold standard . . . One of the liberal trackers said 'I really like this guy. I'd cross over.'"

Morning Joe crowd really digs Huntsman. Is that the kiss of death? Ping to Today show list.
Huntsman is entirely irrelevant.
“Morning Joe Hearts Huntsman”
Well of course they do, he’s a lib. Heard Rove on FNC talking about how only the RINO’s have a chance (worked great in ‘08 didn’t it?) With one social conservative maybe Bachmann moving into that top tier as well. Well if it is Romney, Huntsman or Bachmann, I’d take that race, the two libs split the lib vote and Michelle waltzes into the convention with Herman Cain as her VP nominee.....OR reverse Cain/Bachmann and I’d take that as well.
From what I can tell, Huntsman is an unelectable Romney.
I heard a few minutes of his remarks yesterday and he is a bigger loser and clueless, PC, ("Can't we just all git' along") RINO, than Juan McPain is.
Yikes. I haven’t heard Huntsman in action yet, and am looking forward to learning where he stands on the issues, etc.
Throw a couple tomatoes at him at his next event and he’ll hopefully fold like Daniels, Barbour, etc
And would be the most liberal Republican candidate since, um, George H.W. Bush?
(Or do we have to go back to R.M. Nixon?)
Romney/Huntsman...mormon, and mormon-lite.
Both are "mormon royalty" born with the "sure knowledge" that along with their silver spoon and mormon "priesthood" they are endowed with the "calling" to rule.
"... the prophet Joseph Smith did make the marvelous prediction that it is the destiny of the Latter-day Saints to some day save the Constitution of the United States.
- Preston Nibley, LDS church historian, Deseret News, December 15, 1948; quoted in The White Horse Prophecy, 1993, p. 65
IMO, Romney has spent the past few years with his millions and from his lofty perch delivering the message that he is foreordained to rise to the position of POTUS...don't expect anything different from Huntsman who has more money and an appeal to liberals.

Huntsman lunch with Bush in campaign spotlight
By: CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser
Washington (CNN) - After wrapping up a five day swing through the first in the nation primary state of New Hampshire, Jon Huntsman heads to Maine Monday afternoon to meet with former President George H.W. Bush.
Huntsman is expected to have lunch with former President Bush and first lady Barbara Bush at their compound Kennebunkport.
The former Utah governor and probable 2012 GOP White House hopeful has something in common with the former president: Both served as U.S. ambassadors to China.
God help us now.
Good Lord, I sure hope it’s the kiss of death.
Huntsman is being coy about his Mormonism. Probably is still waiting for the poling data to come in.

yep, with Daniels out, maybe some of the populists, grass-roots conservatives, constitutionalists, right-wingers, and other Freepers will give Huntsman another look!
i did not put the /s on #14, cuz I wanna see how much trash gets thrown on my front lawn.
Still waiting for Sarah to swoop in?
Yes, but if not I’ll take Cain or Bachmann
Rush claims the Bush people will gravitate to him with Daniels out. I can’t see it.
Thanks a lot, pal - I wasn't looking for validation, I was looking for repudiation!
; )
If he's a 'Republican' and from New Hampshire then he's just a Democrat here in Georgia...haven't heard him, don't want to, won't vote for him anyway.
