The federal government is suing Starbucks for firing a dwarf.
According to Reuters, the barista, at a store in El Paso, TX, requested a stool or small stepladder to do her job. Starbucks denied the request and fired her that same day. The company said she could have been a danger to employees and customers.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said after three days of training, the store should have made a reasonable accommodation for the woman.

The hiring person should be fired for poor judgment.

They should be able to fire her without reason...just as she should be able to quit without reason.

Yep. The only job for her would be sitting on a high chair behind the counter and handing over the coffee at the counter only.

Next, we’ll find out the dwarf’s name was Chuck.

And yes, I read the article just enough to find out that the ex-employee’s was a woman.
She still could be named Chuck. What say you now?

One wonders if the dwarf might be...
Grumpy (about being fired, I mean, of course).

little people didnt ask to be born that way and have to make a living just like everyone else. I agree. And to those who made jokes (gnome, randy newman quote) it's in bad taste to make fun of people because of a disablity.

That being said, little people didnt ask to be born that way and have to make a living just like everyone else. Gee. Maybe you think that racetracks should stop writing races for people who weigh 115 pounds or less so horse owners could have to give overweight guys like me a shot at winning the Kentucky Derby?

Seriously, they DID know she was a dwarf when they hired her, right?
I mean, I doubt she suddenly BECOME a dwarf after she’d been working there a few weeks.
And if she DID, then Starbucks may have more problems than one pi$$ed off ‘little-person’.
