Historic City News has received word that, over the weekend, five teenage boys, between 15 and 17 years of age, were transported to Baptist South Hospital after exhibiting violent symptoms believed to have been caused from eating a substance ordered from the Republic of China.
A 17 year-old who lives on North Lake Cunningham Avenue, attacked his father and deputies when they attempted to subdue him. His parents told deputies and paramedics that his behavior was out of control after ingesting what may be some form of bath salts.

From china?
Revelation 9: 13-16
The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God. It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates. And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.
Ibogaine?
MDMA?
DMT?
2C-I or 2,5-dimethoxy-4-iodophenethylamine is a psychedelic drug and phenethylamine of the 2C family.[1] The drug is used recreationally as a stimulant, empathogen-entactogen and as an entheogen, but no official medical or industrial uses have been reported yet.[citation needed] 2C-I is commonly sold in its hydrochloride salt form which is a fluffy, sparkling white powder, which has also been pressed into tablet form.
But from China who knows what it was cut with. Plus, it’s illegal in many drug-friendly places in Europe.
Great. I’m going to assume we’ll see more of this before it runs its course.
Is it illegal here?
The author seems to be implying that the drug in question normally is used for bathing, rather than "bath salts" just being a code name for the drug to try to avoid prosecution. It would be like saying that teenagers who were confused, giggling and hungry had smoked some form of grass, implying that it might be fescue or zoysia grass.
Good question.
Evidently it is some form of “bath salts”.
I had a friend that reached that state just using old fashioned American LSD and most of a fifth of Vodka, it took 6 cops to subdue him.
This is the second “bath salts” story in a week where the person was either out of control or unconscious. Whiskey Tango?
Colonel, USAFR
Bath salts to angels in .2 seconds.
There’s acceleration for you. Bugatti??
I knew people in CA who used horse tranquilizers (called PCP, I believe) and they couldn't be restrained. They are paranoid, scared and have the strength that comes from massive amounts of adrenaline, the thing that enables 100 lb women to lift cars off of their trapped husband or child.
My big question is why you would voluntarily want to do this to yourself? I didn't understand it in the 60s and I don't understand it now.
BTW, I drink and am not puritanical, and I realize anyone can drink too much and that a handful do so regularly. However, alcohol is pretty moderate unless abused. These people are using a drug that is NEVER moderate and which exists only to provide the experience of psychosis. For me, this is very hard to understand.
The danger of ingesting Bath Salts has been in the news for several months now so it doesn't really matter where it comes from.........
Where this occurred is about 1 mile from my house. My friend lives on North Lake Cunningham. It is right next to a huge elementary school.
Unbelievable. I wonder what in the world it is? And good grief if a bunch of idiot teenagers get their hands on it...
Darwins way of saying “Thanks for the memories and wish you were here”. They are not totally useless, they can still be used as bad examples.
The more restrictions government places on known, studied and relatively safe drugs, the more people will experiment with unknown and dangerous new drugs.
There are countless known plants, molds and fungi with psychoactive properties. Most are legal and grow uncontrollably in the wild. There are probably even more that have not been discovered. Many market them as spice blends or incense and sell by word of mouth. They are always far more dangerous and addictive than whatever illegal drug they intend to replace.
That's just natural chemicals. When you add modified natural compounds and purely synthetic drugs to the mix, the possibilities become infinite. People will hurt themselves with these unknown chemicals far worse than with pure cannabis, cocaine, LSD, MDMA, etc.
The war on drugs can never be won this way. The war should be on the reasons people want intoxicants in the first place. The only way they can continue fighting this war is by having a list of “approved” plants, chemicals and objects. Anything not on the list will be prohibited. Is that what you want the USA to look like?
Having a reasonable amount of experience with intoxicants, I can tell you that “out-of-control” and “near-death” are totally not descriptors of any of my experiences.
Also, I can tell you that alcohol is significantly more debilitating and powerful an intoxicant than its generally given credit for - for example, it’s the only substance I’ve ever encountered which has caused me to ‘black-out’. Something that happened once, in my first year of college, thank you very much El Jimador brand Tequila.
Also, psychosis is not an apt descriptor for the experience of narcotics, and there are a number of reasons people will decide to ingest them. Yes, a significant number of these reasons are self-destructive or negative, but I am confident in saying that a majority of narcotics users do so responsibly and without causing significant harm to themselves or others.
