This morning Republicans are just beginning to assess the damage that former House Speaker and current presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has done to the GOP budget plan currently before Congress. On "Meet the Press" Sunday, Gingrich denounced House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan's plan to restructure Medicare, saying, "I don't think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don't think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate."

The astoundingthing about Newt is the more you learn about him, the more contemptible he becomes. Somehow or other the Clintons really got to him. The only good thing about this mess is he's shown how hopelessly corrupt he is early on so we can flush him down the nearest toilet, hopefully never to be seen again.

Newt is Mittens without the money and the good hair.

Somehow or other the Clintons really got to him.The last time he was really admired was in 1996, and I suspect now that he was probably always full of sh*t; a bright but opportuntstic guy with no set basket of principles who would sell ANYBODY down the river if he thought it would benefit himself. A Truly contemptible historical figure.

Newt is a RINO hypocrite.

I have to give Newt credit for one thing... he made Bill Clinton look like an honest, decent man.

I wasn’t a Newt supporter before this weekend, but now I actively dislike him. In my opinion, Paul Ryan is the best thing to happen to the United States in many years; his proposed budget is the only one that seriously addresses the catastrophic mess made out of our budget by both Democrats (primarily) and Republicans (secondarily).
New is not a conservative, and after his contemptible remarks this weekend, I think his chance of winning the nomination went from slight to none.

"I don't think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering.Neither do I.
I don't watch MTP. Did Newt expound on what he considers to be right-wing social engineering in Ryan's budget?

I think he’s bucking for the Democrat Party nomination.
What’s ironic is the way Democrats killed off Gingrich last time by lying about his “wither on the vine” statement in regards to Medicare.
What a dumbass.

Right wing social engineering?
If by that, he means getting government the hell out of the way and having personal responsibility as a must — then hell yes, I am ALL FOR right wing social engineering.

So, this is either a bit of a temper tantrum for not receiving ringing support of his running for President or he is positioning himself left to setup some kind of goofy ass independent run. There is no way he thought these comments would be ones that would bring him the nomination.

Holy Toads & Newts Batman!
The MSM will now try to push this loser upon Conservatives as the Republicans best chance to beat Barry in 2012.
To: WillVoteForFood
He figured out social conservatives will not vote for him in the primaries and is going for the brain dead suburbanite “moderate” vote.

During the MTP interview Sunday, Gingrich interrupted Gregory with this:
Gingrich to Gregory: "... but let me talk about ME ..."

With Gingrich, it is difficult to tell which is bigger — his mouth or his ego.
He can get many feet in that mouth.

An amazing, almost instantaneous self immolation of a presidential candidate.
Anyone that thinks Ryan’s plan is “radical” is living in a dummieland alterverse.
Further, there is no “right wing” in this country. Statism is all there is. The tea party is the only opposition to Big Government, and it’s really not very concerned with anything other than money.
Newt is another disappointing example of a completely co-opted statist mole. On the order of a Meg Whitman. The Statists seek to have candidates of both parties on the ballot.

Amen. Newt is a self-centered jerk. Why I bet he would even betray his wife. Oh, wait, he has done that, twice.

Newt’s making money. That’s the only explanation. He’s creating a liberal media support system through which to sell his future books. He knows he’s not electable, so he’s going to cash out.
