Members of Navy SEAL team 6, the Special Operations unit responsible for killing Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden in Pakistan last Sunday, have expressed concerns about their safety and the safety of their families now that details of the mission have been made public.
Speaking to Marines at Camp Lejeune Thursday, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the concerns were expressed to him directly a week ago when he met with members of the unit to congratulate them on their mission. Gates said the SEALs were mainly focused on their families and worried they could be subject to retaliatory attacks.

Other nations - - including China, Russia, North Korea, etc. - - will now feel that they have carte blanche to launch assassination missions against anybody they feel like labeling a "terrorist". "Hey, the United States does it so why can't we?"
Imagine how the Israelis must feel. When the Mossad takes somebody out there is nothing left but a ghost and an unsubstantiated rumor. When the selfish Ubama takes somebody out, it's a sparkling campaign commercial.
I can't blame these SEALS for feeling like they've been sold out. Now, every Navy SEAL has extra reason to always be looking over his shoulder.

When I read the headline, by first reaction was, “No SH##, Sherlock”.
I worked undercover for 5 years in a Gang/Drug Task Force and my biggest concern was the safety of my family.
When I heard that the community organizer was going to personally go to congratulate the members of SEAL Team 6, I knew those men wanted to stay in the shadows.
I have put up with obama’s stupidity and arrogance for over 2 years now, but when he puts the lives of members of our military and their families at risk, it's time to send him and his teleprompter back to the Windy City where he can do less harm to our nation.

I have a hard time believing that they are being “outed” because the administration is “stupid” or they “do not care.”

Osama was given a proper Muslim burial for just ONE REASON:
Islamic martyrs ARE NOT given a proper Muslim burial.
That right there is enough reason to have done it, or at least to SAY that it was done.
We did it at sea to ensure that there would be no grave, and therefore no future shrine.

There’s WAY-WAY too much info *out there* ...the fact that the enemy knows the SEALS even secured the computers and other hardware/data is very disconcerting.

If you're implying that those who share a rack are good guys, I say bullshit. I did 11 years in the Navy (75-86) and served on 3 different warships and left as an E-6. I shared many close quarters with other secular Sailors and even then couldn't trust them all.
The Navy is made up of all kinds and I found some of my shipmates to be lazy, incompetent, and a couple who were angling for a general discharge just because they couldn't hack it but they didn't kill anyone in the name of their stupid Muslim cult.
Yeah,the Muslim Chaplain who walked in and killed so many on base recently served honorably. If I remember correctly, he even had a Navy Achievement Medal in his photo.
Think about the Muslim who threw a grenade into an Army tent and killed so many and he served honorably. Forgot about that, didn't you? Now think about all the thousands of Muslim murders, rapes, beheadings, dis-membermant, etc that happen around the World every day. You want to trust such people? Fine.
You're okay with the recent Afgan intel trainee that walked up and opened fire and killed a bunch of our CIA guys? He was US trained who was respected and trusted (honorably) and killed, what, 11 CIA operatives?
But really, James Bond? Puhlease. They just need access to weapons, just like some bank-robber. That doesn't take a 007 clandestine effort.
If I were serving today, I wouldn't trust a Muslim for a second. I would have a solid shipmate watching my 6. F*ck Muslims. They turn too quickly to their radical cult as recent history has shown.

Most SEALS are not regular married Sailors because of the nature of their duty. Is al-Qaeda or Pakistan really going to go to the effort of tracking down a SEALS, Delta, Marine Recon, Rangers' family to make a point? Think of the blow-back. Plus, they can all get new ID's.
The CIA combat operators are those most wanted and you will never hear about, because no one can find their names. Those guys are right along side our spec-op guys in theater, but when they die, they only get a star on a wall. Our SEALS, Marine Force Recon, Army Delta and Rangers, Air Force search&rescue get medals for all to see.
But then I'm working on info from old SEAL friend at Coronado many years ago - things could have changed. But I doubt their families are in jeapordy. And I know the SEALS themselves are not. Doesn't matter if anyone knows their names. The media could plaster their face all over the world, but when they activate, they are always under the radar, with face camoflauge. So who would know if John Smith SEAL were to infiltrate? Their entire scenario is about going in undetected. Think about it.
It is a big deal. These man don’t need to be hunted down like dogs. They also took out OBL, not some guy who is only known inside the intelligence community.
It is much different today. Years ago would the media camp out in front of your home and run checks on you, like they did Joe the Plumber? We see the ugliness of people every day. The internet makes finding pictures of people very easy, same thing with their exact address. It does not mean that they are going to be targets of Al Qaeda but it can be any other whacko. We hear about people being stalked all the time.
You talk about their families. What if it were your wife and kid that were harrassed or targeted? Hello? Code Pink or a group like them? Do you think it is fair that these men and their families have to be compromised so that Obama can have a photo with them?
There are NO words to describe the way I feel about these people. I feel the disgust in my bones. The fact that these men should have to worry about this is MADNESS!!! This administration is a WMD targeting our very foundation!

Time to make the Democrats feel this way with the election of President Palin. Yes I know they felt disgusted when President Bush was President and said the same things we said but after 2 1/2 years with President Obama, it is back to the Democrats turn again. We cannot have President Obama for 8 years....Having President Bush for 8 years made the Democrats sick to their stomach’s but he was not nearly as bad for them as President Obama is to us.

If that happens, I wouldn't be surprised to see a re-enactment of a Vince Flynn novel being played out in real life. These individuals deserve America's respect, and shouldn't have to be worrying about some elected official putting them or their families at risk because they can't keep their pie-hole shut. I believe it will only take one incident where someone's family member dies because someone spoke when they shouldn't have.
