INDIANAPOLIS Refocusing on the nation's economic struggles, President Barack Obama welcomed news Friday that the economy unexpectedly added more than 200,000 jobs last month. "We are regaining our footing," he said.
The president spoke during a visit to a transmission plant in Indianapolis, even as the killing of Osama bin Laden continued to dominate headlines and much of the president's time.
From Indianapolis he was to travel to Fort Campbell, Ky., to thank the Navy SEALs who stormed bin Laden's compound in Pakistan and shot him dead, and the helicopter operators who got them there.
But first, at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, the president promoted his clean energy agenda while offering an optimistic assessment of the economy's growth. April's labor market report marked the third straight month in which more than 200,000 jobs were created, the best three-month hiring spree in five years and a sign of increasing confidence in the private sector.
"We've made this progress at a time when our economy's been facing some serious headwinds," the president told workers, citing high gas prices and the earthquake in Japan. "There will undoubtedly be some more challenges ahead, but the fact is that we are still making progress," he said. "And that proves how resilient the American economy is, and how resilient the American worker is, and that we can take a hit and we can keep on going forward."

I hear you, like I said, we don’t normally do this, but some of them appear to be regular people suffering from the muzzie loving president.
I run in circles that are prepping to take our country back. Not an armed kind of thing, but a survival tactic. We are not going to abide by their ‘rules’. Eventually, freedom will win. We are in a battle, it’s just not being fought with guns.
Just look at the tea parties. I live in Wisconsin, look what’s happening here, previously a blue state, fighting gallantly to be red. We are going to win every battle the unionista’s throw at us.
2010 was the warning shot, the supreme court election in Wisconsin was a battle, 2012 will decide the outcome. We aren’t going away, obama is a mistake, and history will prove it. He’s going down big time. Americans are still Americans, we LOVE our freedom. We’ve been rising up and it’s not diminishing. I still have hope. After November 2012, my opinion may change. So far, we have the upper hand.
Consider that the government is being set up to run on its own without interference from ‘elected officials’.
The EPA is one example. The HHS (Obamacare) and the NLRB (Boeing dictate) are just two more.
Like the scene in ‘Cabaret’....”Still think you can contain them?”

That means over the last 14 months, Obama said, weve added more than 2 million jobs in the private sector.
I take some comfort in the knowledge that when the mobs come with pitchforks and torches and tar and feathers, they will grab the media as well as the politicians.
I don’t think the heavy stuff’s gonna come down for quite a while yet.

Man if I could get a guitar to sound like that..mmm, mmmmm, it's downright Jimmy Page.
“We are regaining our footing,” he said.
Right! We regain our footing as we step ftom one bucket of crap into another....
I’ve never taken an economics class and I know this country is in a terrible position right now.
Yeah, those “serious headwinds” are largely the Presidency of Barack Obama.
Exactly.
That's normal for this place, I live in Trashville... we had a serious homeless problem before Osama was even elected.
Yep, and the rest were an accounting gimmick.
I never understood the meaning of the old Mussolini saying that "it takes a dictator to make the trains run on time" until an older Italian lady explained it to me. The trains never ran on time when Musso was in power.
Perhaps living in ‘Eskimo’ land alters your point of view. But that guy looked like my ‘dad’. Maybe he bought booze, but maybe he got a meal and a room. Maybe he was a vet. Lot’s of maybe’s.
One thing I’m grateful for is when the SHTF, all you southerns will take the brunt of the takers. Us in the northern regions will survive, we’re programmed to take on the worst. You all will have leeches, sucking the blood out of your states. We’ll be happy being cold and miserable, shoveling 2 feet of snow.
They’ll migrate to the ‘nice’ weather states. Nature has it’s way.
I kind of feel sorry for you. You all down south will deal with the brunt of the looters. But then again, up here in Eskimo land, we’ve lived it forever. We’ll chop wood and make sure our well and septic are working and survive no power.
I’m glad I live far away from a ‘city’.
We live in a different world than the rest of the country.
We are the bitter clingers. LOL!
